for girls having an afternoon reception ...

umm what does your day look like? what time are you waking up? getting your hair done? it is easier to have someone come to you instead of going to a place? are your girls coming to your house already ready? what time is the photographer coming? ect. if you could let me know that would be great! im having a hard time making a morning of schedule!

Re: for girls having an afternoon reception ...

Well here it is..

5am - beginning make up
6am - beginning hair
(there are 6 of us and 1 FG (only hair).
Done and out of the hotel suite by 9:30am
Arrive at VYC for 10am
Pics with Photog beginning at 10am-12:15pm
Ceremony at 12:30

I think the hardest part will be getting everyone up and moving the morning of - but once room service gets there and I can shove food down everyones throats - it will be all good

Re: for girls having an afternoon reception ...

I'm having a hard time with this too! Here's my tentative timeline. We're definitely having hair/make-up ppl come to us. My girls will most likely be getting ready with me. Not sure if we'll be getting ready at a hotel or at home yet.

4AM - Wake up
5AM - Hair/Make-up for the Bride
6AM - Hair/Make-up for the Bridal party and Mom
8AM - Travel to hall
8:30AM - Allowed into Hall, check details, Photographer arrives
9AM-11AM - Take pictures
11AM - Rehersal and sign license
11:30AM - Guests arrive (Last minute touch ups and relax nerves )
12PM - Ceremony Begins
12:30PM - Cocktail Hour
1:30 - 5:30 - Reception

Re: for girls having an afternoon reception ...

'08er crashing...My timeline was pretty similar to Angelx. I woke up at 4:30 (not that I slept at all that night). We took pictures at the dock and then went to the hall and took some pics before the ceremony and more during the cocktail hour. Just make sure you give yourself way more time than you need so you're not rushing around.

Re: for girls having an afternoon reception ...

Yea, I really didn't want to get up so early.. i thought the earliest i could do was 5am but talking with a few other ppl, it seems like their hair and make-up usually ran late so I'm trying to give myself the most time without rushing, which unfortunately means waking up earlier.

Re: for girls having an afternoon reception ...

I think this will be it - this is something I've been stressing about a lot lately!

Starting Hair and Makeup @ 530am (me, 6 bridesmaids, MOB, FG)
Photographer comes to my house at 8am
Limo @ 830am (so I want everyone to be dressed by then)
Pics at my house from 830-9
Off to WM by 9am
Pics from 930-1130 @ WM
Ceremony @ noon
CH - 1230 - 130
Reception - 130-530

Sound realistic??

We're going to a hair salon to get our hair done and then the makeup will be done at my house - all the girls are getting ready at my house. It's gonna be a long day!!
