Our Wedding Reception Venue is a hate crime scene

A few weeks ago we learned from various news source that our beloved reception venue is a hate crime scene. We love our venue and had a blast on our special day. The food, service and décor were all great and that's the impression we'd like to leave with our guests. However, beginning January 2003 an incident there has now broke my heart and DH's heart. For those who live in the Metro NYC area might be familiar with our reception venue or at least have heard about it recently in the news. Sadly, I'm broken hearted and very disappointed to be left with this kind of an impression on our reception venue. However, many things are not in our control such as weather, this war with terrorism, etc. and certainly any outside forces like this. I'm posting this now as my family is sad as we had a lot of OOT family at our wedding which many were foreigners as it was their first time in New York City and first time in USA. I hope that our OOT don't find out about this, but somehow they will. I just want to hear something positive and encouraging right now.

I wouldn't worry too much. I love that place but just because something like that happen I don't blame the restaurant. I don't think your guest will relate your wedding to the hate crime at all.

Latina511 is right. They will remember caffe on the green for your wonderful wedding not a fight between customers.

I live right down the road from Caffe on the Green and this is the first I've heard of the incident. I wouldn't worry about it ruining memories... that place is so beautiful.
