Hand canceling invites......
Does anyone know which post offices in Nassau allow you to do it yourself?I want to make sure they're done and not thrown in a pile, then in the machine anyway.

Sorry Liz I don't know. I dropped my invites off at the Main Post Office in Hicksville which is also 24 hrs. They hand canceled them nicely and they looked fine when I saw them at my families house.

I used the Hicksville Post Office too. I had huge pocketfold invites and they hand cancelled them for me and they arrived to my guests in great shape.

I think it's really just based on how nice the postal worker you get is. We went here at the big Rockefeller Center office and he let us do it. I was surprised because of how busy they are, I thought he'd laugh us out..but he was great!Maybe you can call and ask ahead of time?

That's ok megan That is when they don't run it through the machine to process.
They do it by hand instead so your envelpes won't get messed up.

I think the post office in Great Neck(by the LIRR station) will let you hand cancel them yourself or at least help you do it.

I was able to hand cancel mine at the Oyster Bay post office.
