Gift question, anyone know anything about golf?

My husband has one male cousin and according to my SIL he loves golf. I personally don't care for the game and I wanted to give him a little golf gift basket. I was thinking a water bottle, golf balls and those little things you put the golf ball on. What else could I put in the basket for a golfer? I'm trying to keep this small and low budget. Any advise?

Is that what golf towels are for???? I thought theyb were to wipe the sweat off the golfer's head. Honestly, I had no idea they were for the BALLS.

They also have a golf store in Huntington Sta. on Jericho, called Huntington Golf I think - and then there are Golfsmiths in Carle Place on Glen Cove Rd (near Voice Rd, might be on the corner) and in East Northport on Jericho.

I am not a golfer, but I live in Huntington and used to work in Carle Place, so I know the areas well and just pass these stores alllll the time.

This is a good idea. I would add the towels people are talking about. A lot of times in the stores you can find gift sets already made up. They also sell divits and markers.

There is always a good old gift card to the golf store or to a local driving range.

Re: Gift question, anyone know anything about golf?

I'm a golfer and I honestly wouldn't put balls in. Golfers can be pretty picky with the balls they like to use (ha). Same with tees. There are lots of choices in terms of equipment and everyone has a preference. A gift basket is a great idea if you know what brands/styles they like. If not, maybe a gift card?

Just my two sense. I know my DH and bro get golf gifts a lot and they go to waste because it isn't the type/style they use.

Re: Gift question, anyone know anything about golf?

Sorry I didn't mean to bump this back up. I haven't been online in the last few days. The reason I try not to go with gift cars, is because I really don't have a lot of $$$ and I would feel bad giving someone a gift card with so a low amount of money. The baskets I already have. I get them at yard sales, to dress up and make gift baskets for celebrations. I had no idea that there were different kinds of golf balls and tees. I always thought they were pretty much the same. I should have thought about that. Hmmm... I'll figure something out. Maybe just a golf t-shirt or something. I plan on making his mother and sister a flees shawl. So I wanted to give him something nice as well. His dad I'm giving a bottle of wine, I don't DH cousin is over 21. I don't know. I'll figure something out. Maybe a coffee gift basket. With a mug with a lid on it, with a bag of fancy coffee and some cookies.
Think it'll work?

Re: Gift question, anyone know anything about golf?

I understand about money. It's always tough, especially with the holidays.

Try TJ Maxx. They sell the dry wick golf shirts and I just bought 2 on clearance for $12 each!!! (Reg. $60!)
