from what I remember it was covered but only a really insignificant amt. It was really annoying. If you mail in your prescription it'll be much cheaper.

Re: Anyone have GHI?????
I used my CIGNA to get coverage for my BC.I had a hard time with GHI because the prescription coverage is done thru another company, I can't remember the name of it. I also don't have a separate card for the prescription coverage.
Before I got married, I had CIGNA and DH had GHI. We chose to keep each of the policies, adding each other. It is duplicate coverage but the two companies coordinate the benefits payments. It gives both of us better coverage and less out of pocket expense.
It makes more sense for us to do this since we are both older.

Re: Anyone have GHI?????
i have GHI, and they don't fully cover it. They make me do the mail-in program, and it costs $50 for a 3 month supply, which is cheaper than if I had no insurance, but it's still more than I'd like to pay. They told me they only cover long-term prescriptions by mail, and that I can't just go and pick it up from my pharmacy.

That's a lot.
CIGNA charges $20 for a 3 month supply by mail in, or $20 for each month if I go to the pharmacy.
At that price, it would be worth asking the gyn for samples.

Ortho Tri Lo.It' s the one that works for me.
I may be having a senior moment (for you ladies that don't know me, I'm a young 42) but I could swear that it is only $20 for a 3 month supply by mail away.

Hmm. Not sure I want to switch, but I may ask my doc about it.
Is it a generic form? And can you tell me which Cigna plan you have? I have the QPOS ... at least I think that's what it is called ...

Re: Anyone have GHI?????
It's not generic, been around for a while.I have the PPO plan.
My coverage is really good, should be because I have to contribute to the cost.

Thanks - I will look into it.
I was asking if the pill you are taking is the generic of Ortho Tri Cyclin Lo -- I think I was on that years ago -- but I thought maybe that was the gerenic price?
I'll check it out. I think I have the PPO too.

my parents had GHI when i was on birth control.....
i had to get a note from the doctor stating that i was on them for control of my ovarian cysts....NOT for the normal usage of the pills. that was the ONLY way they would pay for them....

Re: Anyone have GHI?????
THanks girls for all your help! My doctor has to call GHI and prescription plan and tell them I need it for other reasons. With a history of ovarian cancer in my family, its a preventive plan they put me on.... If I have to do the mail in, then so be it. DH said I may just have to go back to my companies health plan and have both.THanks!!

Re: Anyone have GHI?????
I used ortho-tricyclen lo with GHI and got a 3 month supply for $5 I think from Walgreens no problem. My doctor used to always give me tons of samples. I just stopped using them and I have a few packages left -- this is probably totally illegal, but fm me if you could use them. Its funny, I was saying to FH what a waste it is that I have all these samples!
