how much on cake?

For those of you whose cakes are not included in RH - how much are you spending on cake pp? I went to my first tasting last night and it was really good (and fun!) but just thinking that it is SOOOO expensive. . .

Luckily mine comes with the hall so i didnt need to buy a whole cake but FH is vegan so i have to buy a mini vegan cake that Black Forest can put on top of theirs.

Luckily mine comes with the hall so i didnt need to buy a whole cake but FH is vegan so i have to buy a mini vegan cake that Black Forest can put on top of theirs.

that seems reasonable - I swear if i didn't have anything to do the day before I would just make mine!

Cakes by Mona is the one who gave me the $7 quote

That was vegan so it may be less for non-vegan

Try cakes by Jay, he does AMAZING work and its so delicious too. Its in the range of $6-8 a slice. Did you go to the city? if so then yeah, alot of places are in the $10-15 a slice range

Oh thanks - I heard good things about him. I might check him out.

I used him and he sat down with us for over an hour and did EXACTLY what we wanted, we were able to design each tier, we gave him designs we wanted for all 6 tiers, and he gave his own suggestions and how to execute it better. He has also been on the food network challenges a couple of times and has won too. Also, on the last episode of, my fair wedding, he did the cake and then all the miniature cakes that it came out with.
