How long are you wearing your veil? (And please help with an answer to my Q!)
I am going to be getting my hair done around 10am. We have pictures scheduled for around 2:30 pm. Do I keel my veil on until the pictures? It's very long and I'm afraid someone will step on it or it will get in the way. But I'm scared that if I take it off, I won't be able to get it back in the right way. What would you do? Plus, my ceremony isn't until 7pm so I am going to have it take it off at some point. Have you all decided what you're going to do?

Re: How long are you wearing your veil?
If I can bear it, I will keep it on until we cut the cake. If not, I will take it off after the first dance.

Re: How long are you wearing your veil?
merf...mime is also very long and I'm taking pics early from (starting at about 2) and the ceremony isn't till 7:30...I think it's going to look bad (dirty & wrinkled) by the time the ceremony starts.I have a hair trial tonight, I'm going to see how difficult it is to take off and put on.
Have you had a hair trail yet? Maybe it won't be as difficult as we're thinking.

Re: How long are you wearing your veil?
My original thought was to keep it on all night. The shorter veil. But when I was trying on a dress and I had the veil on and I was there for so long, my head started feeling heavy. So I guess I will wing it and see what happens the night of. Knowing me, after the church, I will rip it out of my hair!LOL

All night for me too! I'm wearing it waterfall, set back a bit on my head so it's not in my face all night, and it's fingertip length.

All night. I am only going to be a bride once so I might as well take advantage. Besides, all those years as a little girl practicing with a pillow case were for something, right?

I would love to wear mine all night if it doesn't bother me.My sister hated the idea of wearing a veil but then ended up loving it the day of and wearing it the whole time.

We did some pictures without the veil, then my sister put it on for me and we did somw with it on. I was more comfortable without the veil, so I took it off right after the first dance!

All night, or as long as I can stand it. My veil turned out more beautiful than my dress and I will only get to wear it once.

Re: How long are you wearing your veil? (And please help with an answer to my Q!)
Honestly, I learned how to deal with my veil and it didn't bother me. I would keep you veil on min. to the reception. Even with the wind - you can just wrap it right up in your arm when you are outdoors and it is so light it didn't bother me at all.I had 2 veils (one cathedral and one fingertip). I had them and the headpiece put on about 9:30 am when I got my hair done. Took some pictures at 2 pm and ceremony at 3, recption started 7ish...left it all on until after the first dance. At that point I took off the cathedral (attached via velcro) and just kept the other-didn't notice it at all the rest of the night.

Re: How long are you wearing your veil? (And please help with an answer to my Q!)
I'm just having one long cathedral veil. I'm was going to take it off after the first dance. But now I'm wondering if I can even dance with it on?? Maybe I should take it off BEFORE the reception?I guess I'll figure it out that day.
I don't think there is any set rule to the veil. See what feels comfortable for you and take it from there.
