cruises?

So FH and I were hoping to take a mediterranean cruise. However, people I have spoken to say it makes seeing the sights more pressured. LIke there is not enough time to see it all because you have to worry about getting back to the ship. I really wanna go to greece. Any suggestions or points of view would be greatly accepted. TIA

Re: cruises?

If you are looking for a relaxing vacation I would have to say a cruise is not relaxing in that way. You stop on the islands.. usually each day or every other day. They boat docks sometimes at like 6 am and then leaves at like 6pm. so you might have 8 to 12 hours to get off the boat and see the island or do any excursions. SO yes in that sense it is a pretty cramped schedule. However you don't have to get off the boat on each island (although why wouldn't you??) and it is a nice way to be able to see a few places in a shorter amount of time. And they always seem to throw one stop in that you stay for like an entire day, which is nice.

I think it all depends on the type of honeymoon you guys want.

if I were to go to Greece... I'd want to go to Greece and not be on a cruise ship - to do what i want when I want. I hear there's an insane night life in Greece... and to have to leave to get back on a boat would piss me off. BUT I REALLY want to do an alaskan cruise!!!

Also, for me PERSONALLY... I think cruises are more fun atmospheres... and would work better if you went with a group of people.

I was tired when I came home from our cruise in 2005!!! For us it was very go go go go!!

Re: cruises?

It is true you don't get to spend much time on the island... cruise ships that stop at more than one destination dock at each location for less than a day. When FI and I go on cruises with his family we try to find a cruise where you sail to the desitination, we are docked for 3 days and then come home so we don't feel rushed and we can go on and off the ship as we please. For a Med. cruise, I would assume you wouldn't have much time.
