Re: how do i make my own cardbox?

i bought boxes on ebay.
i bought a satiny fabric from joannes.
then i treated each box like a present and cut the fabric and used spray adhesive to glue the fabric on.
oh wait before that i cut a slit into the box and i also cut the bottom out of one of the boxes so the cards would fall trhough.

i used ribbons and crystals to decorate. i glued them with fabric glue...that worked better than the spray adhesive.

i;m going to gorilla glue all the boxes together, i havent done that yet. pics in my album under DIY

Re: how do i make my own cardbox?

they are paper mache nesting boxes. i found them on ebay. if you want the seller let me know, i know she stil sells them and in different shapes i think

i know a lot of girls use boxes they already have (free!), like mailing boxes and what not but i am very anal about things like that and needed them all to be proportioned correctly

Re: how do i make my own cardbox?

I went to a million dollar stores to get just the right kind of wrapping paper and holiday decorations. If you're not doing a holiday theme, you could probably still use some stuff from the dollar store, but also fabric from other places. I used a box I had (we moved a few months ago) as the bottom, and boxes from various other things (a coach box, a shirt box, a lightbulb box...) until I got the shape I wanted. Then I wrapped, taped the boxes to each other and decorated! It's pretty easy once you get going. I need to fasten everything on with a hot glue gun before I'm actually done though.
