if its two different songs i dont think its a big deal but i def understand being upset. I would try talking to her about how they picked their song then explain how u always knew what ur song would be maybe she will change it.

I think just like with most aspects of a wedding, we can't expect to have a monopoly on all of the details.

To be perfectly honest, while I know the song means the world to you and your FH, I cannot for the life of me recall the first dance songs for any of the weddings I've gone to...so any overlapping guests at both of your weddings probably won't notice either. Plus, it's different songs.

I think you are making a big deal out of nothing. As a wedding guest, I've never once said 'OMG, I can't believe they chose this song as their first dance song!!!'

Even if it is the same artist, it means so much to you and your FH that no matter what anyone else chooses it will still be the most special to you. I wouldn't stress about it!!!

How close are your weddings? It is a different song , maybe ppl won't remember/realize it's the same person.? I think the bottom line is though that your first song is for you and your FH. Who cares what everyone else thinks? Your song will make it your moment

Our weddings are a year apart, so honestly it should be ok. It just stressed me out a little bit at the moment, but i'm over it.. Thanks Ladies for all your imputs <3

The one advice that everyone that's already married has told me thus far is not to stress the details...because the details won't matter after the big day is over.

I think it's okay that they're also using the same artist. It's that particular song that matters to you.

UGH that is annoying and i would be frustrated too. BUT like everyone said, it's still your song and it's a different song. nobody looks back and remembers other people's wedding songs so it's more important that you and FH choose a meaningful song bc you will be the only two who remember it. HTH.

It's two different songs. I don't think you should be upset. The song you selected has meaning to you and your FH. If she changed her mind so quickly from her Elvis song to the Shania Twain maybe she'll change it again. Just don't get so upset over it!
