LIW Guest List/Guest Report spreadsheet Ques.

I was experimenting with the LIW guest list and guest report. I have a silly questions...when someone RSVPs..does the name disappear off the spreadsheet. I was fooling around with it and if I out they would be attending, I thought you would see a checkmark or something. Can someone explain how it works?
