MY FBIL is a tool BUT my FMIL might actually like me now...

Soooo I haven't vented in a while but my FBIL is still being an @ss like always... he's super competitive and has been on this 'finding the ONE' kick ever since FH and I got engaged when prior to that he always talked about how he LOVES the bachelor life. So now he's been dating this girl for a month and a half and announced the other day that (and these are his exact words) 'I'm really into this girl so by Q1 I plan on being engaged and then we'll be married over the summer. I'm not putting my life on hold because you two are getting married. Whatsamatter, is it going to bother you that I'm going to be married before you?'

ONE - Q1??? Is this a G-D project plan? By the first quarter? You sound like a tool.

TWO - YOU BARELY KNOW THIS GIRL.

THREE - YES IT BOTHERS US BECAUSE WE ARE IN AN ACTUAL RELATIONSHIP AND ARE TRYING TO PLAN A NICE DAY FOR EVERYONE YOU CAN'T BE SUPPORTIVE OR HAPPY FOR US AND AS ALWAYS HAVE TO MAKE THIS ABOUT YOU.

FOUR - I HATE YOU.

Not to mention I LOOOOOVED how he was putting me down because all he kept talking about is how much $$ this girl makes and how important it is for your wife to make just as much money as you do... I'm sorry I don't rake in six figures a year after switching careers but at least I now know you look down on me for it. I love that he thinks I'm with FH for financial reasons.

Everyone keeps telling him to maybe live with her for a little while first, he thinks that is ridiculous. We've suggested at least waiting six months before proposing to get to know each other a little better. Apparently when you hit a certain age there is no reason to wait.

SOOOO on the up side my FMIL is completely beside herself on this one... FBIL wanted her to come down to DC to meet this girl's parents and she REFUSED. She said it's too soon and this is completely ridiculous. So now I am like a saint in her eyes. She actually called and asked to speak to me yesterday!!! AND it was a normal conversation. I AM THE FAVORITE!!! Haha.

Sounds like a Douche! At least FMIL realizes what a good level headed daughter- in-law she has now. Honestly do you really think this girl is down with his plan? If some guy proposed to me in 'Q1' and wanted to be married by the summer i would say that its way too soon. Especially if his parents weren't happy about it! So just sit back and relax, there is no way this will work out for him.

Gins that's great FMIL is seeing you in a new light.

As for FBIL I would sit back and watch, if she say yes then they will have drama. It will be better than TV.
