Hello Ladies!!!! caution LONG mini review AND TONS OF PICS!!!
I am back!!!!! Well i have a lot to do still but I'm back from the honeymoon and can actually come online now!! haha! It's been a while!! The week of the wedding was INSANE!! hectic to say the least. We had a MAJOR issue with sprinkles!! ha ha!! YES you read that right... sprinkles. Allegra and I decided to order red white and blue star sprinkles since we couldn't find them in blue and white. We THOUGHT it would be simple to just sort out all the red ones (since leaving them in would have looked VERY 4th of July)!! haha!! we are TWO DOPES!! This set my cocoa cone project back immensely. We didn't realize there would be millions upon millions of sprinkles to sort through. I got as much help as I could on this project and it became a crazy insane addiction!!! Once you started you couldn't stop yourself no matter what until your neverending pile was totally sorted. I ran around and took some pics of the sprinkle sorters in action!! During night one of the sorting I was bazerk and couldn't stop.... I dumped out the hugest pile of sprinkles and was determined to get to the bottom of it. I will include some fun pics of this sprinkle nonesense!! My one BM sabrina did a TON of cocoa cone work... which I'm pretty positive includes inhaling an abnormal amount of cocoa!!! They turned out GREAT in the end!!! LOVE them!!!
Because of the sprinkles the cocoa cones were a week long project that didn't get finished until the night before the wedding. I also completed my personal DIY projects (unity candle set and cardbox) the night before the wedding. That whole week was a tad nutty.... but I rolled with it.
Allegra was a GREAT help!! She REALLY helped me shop (haha as if I ever need help with shopping!!!) and gather materials etc. Mike, her husband was my little printer man!! he printed a ton of my tags... favor tags for the cocoa cones, slipper baskets, thank you roses for the cars, etc.
I'm finding tons of pics all over facebook... which I'm sure most of you have seen... but I'm going to post a few on here as well.
Overall the wedding was great! I AM SOOO HAPPY with how the overall wedding came out. I LOVED how the Royalton was decorated by Spitz and Peck!! THEY DID A FANTASTIC JOB!! I was extremely impressed that they not only did uplighting on the walls in the reception room, but the entire place!! I had an ice luge and an ice sculpture. They also surprised me with tenting the outside area... I crashed my cocktail hour and LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT!! i NEEDED to do some of those shots off the ice luge. Once I saw the tented outside area I HAD to stay put!!!!
The trolley was a BIG BIG hit!! I HIGHLY recommend a trolley. One regret.... I got the rolls royce 1949... which was awesome for going to the church.... but going out to the royalton I wished i was on the trolley with everyone else. I should have let the rolls go after the church. but that's ok. We still had a nice ride out there.
FM Entertainent did a fabulous job. Frank was amazing. The only problem was my entrance. It wasnt a big deal and since the entire rest of the night was so great It really overshadowed the one problem. They kept playing the bridal party song for our main entrance instead of switching the song to our track. Also if anyone remembers I had bagpipers... what was supposed to happen was the DJ stops playing and the bagpiper does the beginning into to our entrance song then the dj takes over with a punk version of a dropkick murphys song called black velvet band. So that didn't happen. i saw the bagpiper in the reception room waiting to play but the bp song (bouncing souls, ole) was still playing as they started to announce us into the room. Again though... I got over it fast. The dance floor was packed all night long. everyone loved the job they did. I also had zap shots and 2 plasma screens from them. They got some AMAZING shots on the zap's. One pic I saw is my avatar!!! that's a pic from the screen. They gave me a disk of the zap shots as well. they did a montage and also the name plaque on the floor for us. I can't say enough GREAT things about Frank and FM entertainment!! If you booked them... be excited!!!!!
Glenmar studios... i can't say too much because I didn't get to see pics yet. But i will say I'm THRILLED I added a 2nd photographer to the mix days before the wedding. It was only an additional 800 dollars and she got most of the little pics... shots of my details, place card things, cp's, tables, food, etc. She did a lot of the photojournalistic stuff while the other photog got most of the posed shots. I think the combo of both photogs will work out lovely... or at least i'm hoping!!!
Bagpipers - Robert Lynch - FABULOUS!!! I LOVED hearing the bagpipes throughout the Royalton during CH while people were arriving!! It was awesome!!! It really echoed throughout the place. I had 2 pipers and a drummer for the royalton and one piper for the church... which was great fun to arrive too!!!
Royalty - AMAZING!! I got an antique white rolls royce from them and the driver was AWESOME!! he even fluffed my dress for me!!!
Classic Transportaton for the Trolley - AMAZING!!! I even saw them do a trial run hours before the wedding!! When they drove passed the house I was getting ready at they played the bridal song!! It really got you excited and pumped up. AND I was soo impressed that they did a trial run to see where they were going. They went to my location the guys location and the church!!! IMPRESSIVE!!! Plus they put up with my CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY (I can't say that enough) bridal party!!!!
RYAN from above and beyond - WONDERFUL to work with. She was sooo sweet. she got along with everyone and was a great help!! i highly recomend working with her!!!! I was very glad I booked her. I didn't even know when the vendors were leaving and asking for money!! I wasn't pulled away from the wedding at all for the little stuff.... and sooo thankful for that.
Royalton - DID a TERRIFIC job!! I'm getting compliments left and right on the food and the valet and the place, the service, etc. PEOPLE LOVED LOVED LOVED this place!! DH mother said that most people she talked to were sooo impressed with the valet; they refused tips!!! haha!! They also loved the roses left in the cars at the end of the night!!! i could go on and on about the royalton... btu again I will do a full review. I MUST note though... the Bridal Attendant was BEYOND FABULOUS!!!! She was a dream!!! I can't think of her name right now... but OMG I LOVED HER!! She was sooo sweet and helpful!! she fed me all night long and made sure I had enough vodka and fruit punch all night!! (The Royalton got fruit punch special for me so I can have gray goose and fruit punch!!!).
MY CAKE - LOVED it!!! Again, the work of the Royalton!!!
I had some strange drama happen and things that went wrong throughout the night. I ignored it all and just focused on having fun!!! While we were going around to the tables saying hello, MADONNA came on... 80s madonna (MY FAV!!) I high tailed it outta the table area and went straight to the dance floor. I wasn't going to waste Madonna dancing time. Don't be afraid to up and do what you want to do in the moment. You might not get that moment back to redo it... so go for it. CARPE DIEM~ or in this case, instead of ceasing the day.... cease the moment!!!!!
I LOVED how the vibrant blue color came out. It really made the room and pictures come to life!!
Towards the end of the planning process I second guessed A LOT of things!!! A LOT!!! But in the end I LOVED EVERYTHING!!! INCLUDING my DRESS!!! I wasn't able to say that I loved my dress until my FINAL FITTING!!!! So if anyone is doubting themselves towards the end... ignore it!! You picked the things you picked for a reason... trust yourself and go with it!!!!
The Honeymoon was LONG and FANTASTIC!!! I love long vacations... and after the amount of insanity that went on... we REALLY needed it!!! Getting back into the groove of things is wacky too!!
We went to Cali for a night, stayed at the Channel Road Inn, a 4 sisters bed and breakfast in Santa Monica. We rented a car and went all over sight seeing. We went to Rodeo Drive, the Hollywood sign, Beverly Hills, Venice Beach, Santa Monica Pier, Hollywood boulevars, sunset boulevard, hollywood hills, Bell Air, etc. We also visited with a friend of DH family (OMFG DH DH DH DH NOT FH!!!). It was great!!! A tad chilly... but nothing to complain about.
We then left for a red eye flight to go to Tahiti, Papeete.... to then take a propellar plane to Moorea. That was an 8 hour flight. Air Tahiti treats you better than American Airlines. Haha!! You got dinner and breakfast (thought I'm not a fan of airplane food anyway). When we got into Moorea we were super hot and just READY to be in our hotel room. But there was still a ride to take to the hotel. We stayed at the Moorea Pearl Beach Resort and Spa. Upon arrival they gave us these magnificant wet towels that smelled LOVELY!! like nothing I've ever smelled before, along with wonderful drinks of water. IDK what they put in their water... some lemons and fruit.... OMG this was TERRIFIC Water!!! Can you believe im raving about water?? haha!! We did have to wait for our hotel room.
So we jumped in the pool. DH put the suntan lotion in his carry on bag.
So that was confiscated!! After the swim, I sat in the shade while DH soaked it up in the sun! I knew this was a bad idea,... but figured I'd just keep an eye on him. We fell asleep. he got burned!! BAD!!! His whole back was burned. the sun there is SOOOO STRONG!! Anyone going there... MAKE SURE YOU WEAR 50 SPF!! I don't care what you normally wear on vacation ... if you are going to this place you MUST buy a high SPF lotion. I promise you will still tan!!! I tanned lovely for the most part!! I did have a sunburn mishap as well. I THOUHGT i put some on my face one day.... and fell asleep while clouds were out. I woke up and after spending about 4 hours in the sun my face was DONE!!! Oh and the BEST part is that I had on sunglasses!! YUP!! I had the STUPIDEST looking face ever that day!! That day was also my birthday!!!! hahaha!! After spending 9 nights in Moorea we headed over to Bora Bora. Bora Bora has THE MOST BEAUTIFUL LAGOON IN THE WORLD!!! You can clearly see the bottom of the ocean in 25, 30 feet of water!! It's incredible.
We swam with dolphins and sharks (twice). We also saw a stone fish (INCREDIBLY DEADLY) and WHALES~!!! Sea Turtles... and TONS of tropical fish and sting rays!! We also did a bunch of excursions and went out to dinner a lot. I will do a full HM review. So I won't go too nuts with details.
I've run out of things to say at this moment... so i will stop here!!
I'm going to post a bunch of pics too... so it might take a lil time but I'm working on it right now!! I'm sure I'll run into the usual resizing issues so please bear with me.
