My 2008 Bride Goodbye

Taking a page from the '07 girls, any of you who still peek around and are left can say your final goodbye before they close us all for good. I'll go first:


I was a 2008 LIW Bride. I planned most of my wedding from suggestions from this site and everyone who attended thought it was the best wedding they have every been to! You ladies helped me though such difficult times with my mother's illness and eventual departure from this world and I am forever grateful to call this place home to a small chapter of my life.

You've all seen my hiney and we've shared our fair share of drama but this place will always have a special place in my heart. I hope to see you ladies (and your DH's and DC) on FB and LIF.

I was a August, 2008 bride. I could not have planned my wedding without the support, advice and encouragement from you girls! You were there when something went wrong, if I needed to vent or I was going through tough times! I was in a pretty bad car accident 3 days before my wedding and seriously without you, my world would have fallen apart!!!!!! Thankyou for everything! I will miss this board! We had a lot of fun times, laughs, tears and we certainly can't forget about the drama!!!!!!
I am not lying when I say that this board has been a big part of my life that I will never forget!!!!!!!! I have made some great friends (a bunch of whom I still talk to!).

I was an Octobe 2008 Bride. October 2006 through October 2008 was a great time in my life. I made so many great friends and planned one of the best wedding I have ever been to thanks to all of you. Hearing past experiences and suggestions helped make planning both fun and exciting. I had no stress and no worries. I knew that 'my girls' (as i called you all many times) would lead me in the right direction. I truely enjoy LIW and all the events and bridal shows I attended. The first WOTY we went to, we knew nobody. I was happy to have 'friends' as the 2nd one that I could dance with and hang out with.
You girls are great. Thank you all so much for sharing this experience with me.

i was a May 2008 bride... although i joined this site later than most, i still have awesome memories of spending the work day chatting away on LIW

we have had our fair share of drama & we have seen some 08ers go POOF not by choice lol but in the end, i am still in touch with those who have meant a lot to me from this site

and i am happy to see that the NW board continues to thrive even after us 08ers managed to get it locked at one point

and who can forget karen?! and how we 'kept it real' after that whole situation

i also wanted to say that the 2009 & 2010 brides will soon see the circle of life here!

well it is only fitting for me as well to say goodbye. I joined LIW in August of 2008 - my wedding was coming up that December, so needless to say I did not get as much 'preparation' time on here as many other girls. But even though i had found a lot of vendors on my own, this website and the ladies on it definitely helped me with so many other things in the wedding planning process. I am so unbelievably grateful to have had the experience of being here. I pity anybody who has to plan a wedding 'alone'. lol.

And being that me & my husband have JUST celebrating our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY this past Sunday (the 27th) I can't help but be sentimental. I could never imagine a life without him.

So GOODBYE '08 room. I hope everybody is doing well. I pray that we all live the life we've dreamed and that in the end we are all HAPPY with the choices we make

I remember when we couldn't believe our weddings were coming. Then we couldn't believe we are all getting married now I can't believe our board is closing. This all flew by so fast. This website helped me out tremendously. I don't know what I would have done. I hope everyone is well and hopefully will see everyone over on LIF and the baby boards eventually.

Wow....I'm glad folks are coming back to close things out.
So many anniversaries, babies, new jobs, et al.
So many dresses taking up closet space, photos, thank you notes, gifts.
While I was planning it seemed to both fly by and take forever.
Who knows maybe we will renew our vows in 2018?
We can all come back and post pictures:)
We have all learned so much about life, but it seems like yesterday I was banging away on my computer learning all I could about weddings.

I have made so many great friends from this site and would not change a thing!! It was great being able to relate to so many woman across LI (and beyond), about wedding and non-wedding related issues.

I have learned about many other things on this site that I never thought I would. I have learned a lot about other peoples religions and cultures, how to make a lot of really good meals and that breast feeding stirs up a lot of drama!!
LMAO!!!

Thank you to all the girls I still see monthly and talk to every day! I am so happy to have a close knit group of friends that have gone way beyond this site. Thanks to all of the people behind LIW (Ron & Kimberly especially). This is a great site and I really love LIF also.

I was a September '08 bride.

Thanks to everyone who for being so awesome throughout the whole process! Will miss the fun, EAL's and of course the . I'll always remember all the good times on this board!

For me, 2009 is ending on a great note...DH and I are expecting twins and I am due in June!

I was a 2008 September Bride.

I learned about this site from a friend who's sister got married. So I decided to check it out..I immediately fell in love with this site. I have met some amazing girls on the way! Thank You Ladies for all your support, Advice and Kind words!

I have so many memories of planning my wedding through this site. Chatting with all of you all day long while I was supposed to be working..LOL I'll never forget any of you!!

We all need to journey over to the Newlywed Thread. I have met allot of amazing girls over there who are 2009 Brides. I haven't seen a 2008 Bride post recently! Let's keep the 2008 Brides alive and all stay in contact.

Planning our wedding was the best time in my life!
And the craziest with all the stress and looking back I wouldn't of changed any of it!
LIW was the best place for ideas and opinions and second guessing everything that i picked

Can't believe its 2010, seems like just yesterday I got engaged!

I can't believe this time is here...I was a June bride and am so thankful for all of the help I received from the other brides on this site!
