WHAT A HORRIBLE DAY

AS SOME OF YOU MIGHT REMEMBER, OUR DOG WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER (AGAIN - BUT THIS TIME IT WAS UNCURABLE)

WELL, TODAY WE HAD TO PUT HIM TO SLEEP....

WE ALL TOOK IT BAD - FH, FFIL AND MYSELF - AS IT IS SOMEWHAT CLOSE TO FH'S MOM PASSING DUE TO CANCER....

TODAY HAS BEEN HORIRBLE B/C HE WAS USCH A BIG PART OF YOUR LIVES, MORE THAN JUST A DOG....HE HAS BEEN THERE FOR SO MUCH FOR ALL OF US THESE PAST FEW MONTHS AND WE WILL MIS HIM DEEPLY.

it's very hard.... we had to put down one of our rotties because of the same thing.... it was a very horrible situation - even my dad was crying - he was so a member of our family.....

I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you find comfort in your memories of your beloved dog. I lost a beloved dog to cancer about a year and a half ago. I still miss her and keep her picture around.

I am so sorry to hear this!

I just got off the phone with my brother and he had to put one of my mom's cat to sleep! It's a bad day for pets! I think people do take it hard when a pet dies because they are our companions. I hope you find comfort in this bad time.

OMG, I am so so sorry. We had to put our dog to sleep a year and a half ago, so I know exactly how you feel. I miss him everyday.

When it happened, I felt like the most horrible person in the world. I felt like I betrayed his trust for me. However, now I realize that what we did was the right thing for HIM. Prolonging his life would have been selfish.

Here's a nice poem that I found that made me feel a little better. It's called 'Rainbow Bridge'

'Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

thanks everyone - its weird - its still seems unreal and we keep thinking he is going to be ther - its hard to come home to no one waiting for you....and its so quiet - in the morning he would bark and then cry for the kids who pass going to school...

i really appreicate all your support and so sorry to hear about all your losses withpets too.....
