Dumb Dress Shopping Questions #3,479....
I know, I have all these clueless questions, but here's another.....If I wanted to go and try on a dress in a bridal salon, would they let me take pictures of myself in the dress? I ask because my mom is in NY and I am in MA, but also because I am neurotic. I mean, I think I found the one, but I want to be able to compare it when I go try on some others. I once got in trouble for taking a picture in a casino (I really am clueless), and I now have a phobia of getting yelled at for taking pictures! Ok, that's a little over bored....but still.

A LOT of places DO NOT allow you to take pictures of you in a gown that you are JUST trying on. I would ask the salon, why don't you let them know that you are very intersted but want an opinion from your mom in NY... maybe they'll let you slide

Usually they won't. They don't want you to be able to find it someplace else or have it copied by a seamstress. Go shopping with a friend and send the consultant off to find a veil or something and have your friend snap a picture.Have fun

A lot of alons in NY anyway do not allow it. I tried to do the same thing b/c I was getting ideas for my mom to make my dress. Of course I ddidnt tell them that but I used the excuse of a out state relative and they wouldnt allow it. You couldt always try to sneak it in the dressing room. They dont allow it b/c then you can get the same dress elsewhere and they loose your $. good luck

Valentina's (the bridal saloon where I got my dress) would only let me take pictures when I came back to order the dress but I think that they would understand if you explain your situation to them.

Most won't let you but I did find a couple of places that did - to my surprise - mostly smaller shops too (besides RK). So you never know - but I would come prepared to sneaka picture.PS - You aren't a freak. I took lots of pictures because I needed to see them after I left the shop to see if I was caught up in a moment or what I liked and didn't like. My old roommate did the same thing and it was the pictures that actually helped her make her final decision.

In David's, altho they say you can't, we did it anyway & nobody bothered us. Cuz they're so busy in there most times & have so many brides to deal with they don't have time to police EVERYONE so we got away with it.Also got away with it in RK Bridal in Midtown cuz they don't stay in the room with you.
But no salon I visited ever said it was OK to do so, & some of them when they find out you wanna take pix they'll start crowding you even more. Good luck!

Paradise Bridal in Patchogue allows you to take pictures. They even took them for me!!! All other salons that I went to did not allow it unless I had already purchased the dress.Welcome New Vendors
