Re: Mister Softee anyone?

Gosh, you just brought back MEMORIES of my Bronx childhood -
We lived on the 16th floor in Co-op city - and you could hear the Mister Softie truck from our apt. I would jump in the elevator and PRAY that he wouldn't leave...NO CHANCE - the line was a mile long so you always got there in time!!!!!

Chococalate and vanilla cone please with rainbow sprinkles!!!! I can still hear the song in my head...I even made up words to it!!!!

My FMIL tries to distract her kids when the truck comes around so they don't go crazy and start begging for ice cream! (she's terrible!)

Every once in a while I see Mr. Softie around near work (West Village). I haven't stopped him yet. Maybe this summer

Re: Mister Softee anyone?

MMMMMMMMM I used to think he ONLY came to Middle Village when I was a kid. My favorite was the Bubble-o-Bill ice cream bar who came with a bubble gum ball for a nose!

Re: Mister Softee anyone?

Oooh I LOVE Mr. Softee! I used to love to get the double ice cream cone - chocolate with sprinkles. It was $1.75 back then. If he even still sells it, it probably cost $10!!! YUM!

Re: Mister Softee anyone?

I like Mr Softee, but the music drives me NUTS!

He must drive up and down each and every block in my neighborhood...I can hear that song playing over and over for what seems like hours!!

When I was a kid, I didn't like the cartoon character Mr Softee. He gave me the creeps.

Re: Mister Softee anyone?

I don't know why, but way back then we hardly ever got ice cream from him.... it was always Marinos Italian Ices.

Watermelon please, turned upside down so I could eat the real sweet crucnhy part first!
