Need help with a menu for BBQ tomorrow

We don't want to make hot dogs and hamburgers. We want to make some kind of steaks and maybe some sausages. We plan on having a potato dish and a salad. What types of steaks and what else should we make?

Re: Need help with a menu for BBQ tomorrow

Michelle: We don't like London Broil. Its too chewy.
We want something else.We were thinking of shell steaks but thats really expensive, isn't it?
Rebecca: I never made bbq ribs but if its easy enough to make,I'll try it.
Hubby isn't a big chicken lover.Corn on the cob sounds yummy too.

Re: Need help with a menu for BBQ tomorrow

I have good recipes, but at home of course, otherwise I'd share. One of my girlfriends just puts the ribs in a ziplock and throws all different (randomly, almost) ingredients (bbq sauce, all different seasoning) and they come out soooooooo good. I love bbq ribs-its one of my favorite dishes!

Re: Need help with a menu for BBQ tomorrow

Rib steaks are good and not as expensive as shell or porterhouse. They're usually on sale somewhere!

Also, try Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. Its the BEST!!

Edited for typo

Re: Need help with a menu for BBQ tomorrow

Sue,
Go to price club for the shell steaks.. they have the better steaks in bulk for cheaper... I would also make a chicken...

I make my own fresh salsa.. ill give you the recipe if you want it, its the best., so refreshing and it can also serve as a marinade for chicken..

the corn on the cob on the bbq is good, heres what i do, i wisk the corn, then put a little butter on the corn then i take a damp paper towel and roll it up on top of the corn then wrap it in aluminum foil ( the damp paper towel keeps the corn crisp and it doesnt dry it out)

what about fresh made pasta salad? roasted potatoes on the bbq.. much better for you then potato salad..

for dessert, of course im gonna say APPLE CRISP.. with frozen yogurt on top

I don't know if you like pork chops, but boneless bbq pork chops are so good.

Kabobs of any kind are great!!

I second the vote for grilled skirt steaks. They are relatively inexpensive. Awesome with chimichurri.

Mmmmmmmmm...BBQ...............

Re: Need help with a menu for BBQ tomorrow

My friend in Florida makes awesome BBQ ribs on the grill, take baby back ribs, place in shallow pan, put on bbq sauce and some water at the bottom about a quater of the way up, and cover for 1 hour at 350 degress in the oven, lite up grill and place on bbq for about 25 min or until they are just about to fall off of the bone.
Also, BJ's had great chicken sausages that I grilled last summer for July 4th. Or take chicken cutlets and put on Soy Vey Island Terrayaki and grill .
