Ocean City, Maryland ...

Anyone go? The girls have planned a trip for next weekend and since DH is going to be away on business I was thinking about going with them. The only thing holding me back is the LONG drive

- - I know I'm such an old lady.

Is it fun? What's to do there?

LOVE LOVE LOVE OCean City, in fact, we got engaged there!!!

there is tons to do and it is soooo much fun, especially this place called Secrets, its a huge bar that looks like you stepped into carribean, they imported hundreds of palm trees and they put torches and have a carribean band and 8 or 10 outside bars, plus 4 huge inside bars/clubs and you can sit in the water in tubes and the girls bring you drinks..... omg, I miss it! There is also the island of wild horses...

However, it is a big bar scene, drinking crowd, so if you're not into that, you won't really like it.

ONE HUGE PROBLEM, with going there, right now is 'senior week(s)' where tons and I mean a million of high school seniors go to Ocean City, rent out the hotel rooms and the mopeds and basically takeover. They can only go to the '18 to party' bars, but if you don't have patience for them on the boardwalk and buses, definitly stay away. FI and I just laugh at them and wish we got to do that when we were seniors. Apparently it's a huge thing in that part of the US, my cousin from VA just went there for her senior week.

I was there last Spring and honestly the drive wasn't so bad. I love taking road trips. Where are you staying? We stayed at a Hotel on the boardwalk, I think it was called Flamingo Hotel!!?? I enjoyed myself when I was there. You can lay out on the beach, go shopping on the boardwalk (there is a ton of little stores up and down the boardwalk) and there are alot of really fun bars and clubs. I would definately go again. Have fun if you do decide to go!!

I was just there with some of my girlfriends 2 weeks ago. We had the best time! The drive was only about 4 hours - not so bad. It really was sooooo much fun...but I wouldn't recommend the hotel I stayed at - it was nice and clean but for the money we spent they should have better service.

If you go, you must go to Seacrets - bar/club/disco/beach club type place. You can spend all day there, they even have a restaurant.

And on the boardwalk, Purple Moose Saloon was a lot of fun too - the dj let us take over and we tortured everyone with Grease songs again and again..
