Help me find a good home for this doggy! (updated with pics)

One of my coworkers found this poor little pup tied to a pole yesterday evening ... he gave the dog some food and left ... then came back two hours later to check if the dog was gone or not ... and she wasn't!!!

He took her home but can't keep him ... so if you or someone you know is interested in adopting this adorable female doggy, please let me know!!!

ETA: i originally thought it was a boy, but my co-worker corrected me saying it's a female dog. Sorry bout the confusion.

Also, she was found in Long Island City.

omg that's horrible that somebody would leave that poor dog there. i dont know anybody that's looking right now but i hope this dog finds a good home. that's really nice of your coworker. poor baby - that breaks my heart

my friend's husband found a dog yesterday too and it kind of looks like that! i wonder if it's the same person haha.

This breaks my heart!!! This is how we came to 'adopt' our pit bull Lucy! My mom found her tied to a tree.

I'll ask around but it's hard to find someone interested in taking a pit off the street. You should try reposting this on the Pets board on LIF if you haven't already! Good luck!

OMG..I hate to see things like this, breaks my heart. I wish I could take her if only I had a bigger house & yard.
She looks just like my Dots, which we just adopted.

He looks sooo sad. I asked around but nobody is looking to own a dog at the moment. Hope he finds a good home.

yeah - my coworker tried a couple of places, i believe, but had no luck so far. He may take this little guy to a shelter soon ... but we're trying the word-of-mouth thing first

This is so sad- shes a female dog that looks like she just finished weaning her pups. They probably just used her for breeding and then got rid of her.

A few years back i found a dog just like this tied to a pole around the corner from my house. I sayed with her for hours. I couldnt take her home but finally was able to find a vet willing to take her. He is the one who told me unfortunately this happens alot. People use the dogs to breed and they will use the puppies for fighting. So sad.

I hope you find a good home for her- she looks so sweet.

I couldnt take her because we need a hypoallergenic dog for DH

aw! what a good guy!! unfort i still live at home with my parents and we have 2 dogs .. and a cat i found as a kitten who is now a horse!

i work in brooklyn and see this all the time! people should be beaten with a stick !

recently i took home a cat we found in an abandoned LOCKED apartment .. she was a skeleton .. like what you see on those animal aspca shows =( i dont know how she even had energy to walk i had tears in my eyes .. i couldnt leave her there to die ... i brought her some food went back a few hours later and she DEVOURED three cans of cat food .. i said to myself i have to take her .. wether i bring her to t he shelter and they euthanize her at least shes not straving to death alone =(
but three weeks later shes living at my FH house her name is bella she is a MUSH and will be our first born when we move out =) she eats like a moose and i can barley feel her ribs anymore =)=)

hope this baby gets a home! deffinately try animal rescues!! look on fb im friends with a bunch! fm if you need more info!

me and fh are HUGE animal lovers .. we always say were gonna be on that show animal hoarding ;) lol ..

Have you tried contacting Ruff House Recue or Our Best Friends Rescue.

Both these groups focus on Pitts. I'll email my friend Christine who fosters dogs and finds them homes. I don't know if she'll take him though because she already has 7 and that's her capacity but I'll check.

Sadly she should probably go to AC&C but I don't know if she'll last long there...she is so sweet looking though....
