A Little Tip on Feeding a Toddler...just thought I'd share.

I thought I'd share some of my 'tricks' for getting Paul to eat with the BTDT and soon-to-be Mommies. Mealtimes sure do get challenging when your child decides he has an opinion about food I didn't think I'd have a picky eater, but I am learning that all children can be picky in one way or another.

For example, one week Paul is crazy for scrambled eggs and the next, he won't touch it! The same goes for pastina w/butter and cheese. Or mac & cheese. Or meatloaf, hamburger, chicken, etc.

I have tried to feed him those Gerber Graduates meals that are packaged in single-serving tubs. He HATES them - except for the chicken stew and turkey stew. MY biggest gripe w/these meals is that they are full of this gelatinous goop (that is supposed to be gravy). So, I boil some alphabet pasta and add it to the contents of the tub, creating an adult-sized portion of food. This seems to WORK! He will now eat nearly half of this serving in one sitting, so I can get TWO meals out of it! What a way to stretch a dollar! (Anna will be proud)

LOL, how cute! I Love when they hold their mouth closed and REFUSE to let that spoon in !

I still havent bought those Gerber graduates, and now that I read those words 'gelatinous goop', IM REALLY turned off by it

Thats definatly a good idea, to make it less 'goopy' and to add more substance to it and make it go for 2 meals! I may redeem a coupon or 2 of those after all

What a great idea. FSIL is having a hard time with the goop in them, I was there once and little Ryan flung it across the kitchen...YUCK!. I am going to tell her. Thanks!

thanks for the advice!!!

As for the Gerber Grads. The mac-n-cheese is blah. The finger foods ravioli looking things are pretty good... the only thing I HATE is the amount of sodium in them... ever read a label? OMG like 400MG in one of those containers. OUCH.
