Good Wine Recommendations

I haven't seen this thread before so I thought I would start it!

I just got a bottle of Francis Ford Coppola's Rosso 2001. It is a great red wine for BBQ's and Pasta. I highly recommend it!

Anyone else have any good wines to recommend?

I enjoy Lindemans cabernet sav. - it's really inexpensive, but we really like it. For white, I love Luna di Luna - it's a pinot grigio/chardonay blend - yum!

I'll look for the Russo 2001 next time we are buying wine - thanks for the recomendation

I love Kendall Jackson's chardonnay and merlot

My favorite is Plumpjack, but it's almost impossible to find in NY and due to shipping laws, it can't be sent to NY

The Rosemont (or Rosemount) Estates wines are great, especially the blended ones. They are in the Australian section.

I LOVE Long Island wines. Corey Creek makes some delicious wines. I also like Pindar's Reisling.

For red I LOVE Ruffino Chianti Reserve Label
For white I love Santa Margarita Pinot Grigio

Rosemount Estate Shiraz
Rabbit Ridge Merlot

Those are our regulars and pretty good at about $14.99/bottle

I love the Rosemount blended ones as well one is Cabernet Merlot and the other is a Cabernet Shiraz

I just had a Cabernet Sauvignon from Hope Valley Vinyards the other day that was really good.
Jacob's Creek is nice.

DH loves Wolfblass yellow label merlot but it's a bit heavy for my taste.

I like Mondavi's wines a lot.

For white zinfedel I like Beringer better than most of the other brands out there.

the best LI wine I have had is Jamesport...

DH and I just found a CA wine we really like - Raymond vineyards

and we love Spanish wines...we stock up everytime we go (shhhh...don't tell US customs that we pack our suitcases with a few CASES of wine...but all for personal consumption...so OK right?)

Ribelo del Duero is great...but in the US you can usually find Marque de caceras

Hess Select- Cabernet
Blackstone- Merlot
Sterling Merlot
Berringer Merlot AND Cabernet, both good.
George DeBouf- Beujolaise
Bogle Shiraz and Port
J. Lohr Cabernet

Any Vinho Verde, a very inexpensive Portugese white wine with a slight sparkle to it- very yummy (and $5 a bottle).

I had a red table wine from Osprey's Dominion (a LI vineyard). It was very good.

I love Francis Coppolla's Diamond Label cabernet, Bogle's merlot, and Robert Mondavi's Pinot Gris.

AND I will be visiting all of those vineyeards (and then some) on our California Wine Country honeymoon in less than a month! YAAYY!!!
