Black for Mother of Bride Gown?

This is what my mom wants...it is Black with beading and some embroidery in a platinum color....is Black ok for a wedding???

Of course it is.. my Mom wore black- it was an evening affair.. Plus my mom is a total NYC chic- no color for her.

My mom and DH's mom and stepmom all wore black for our wedding. In my opinion they can wear whatever you think is okay for them to wear.

Totally! My BP is wearing black...FHs mom wore black to her daughter's wedding - it's a very elegant color.

Yup etiquette has changed and now black is very acceptable. As a matter of fact, my mom is wearing black/silver, my FMIL is wearing black/gold and my aunt is wearing black/white.
