Macy's Bridal Salon --- how long did it take for your dress to come in?

The Demetrios dress I like is there, but they said it takes from 6 to 8 months (and we all know that means 7 to 9 months) which means I can't order it since my wedding is in 8 months. But just humor me and tell me how long it took your dresses if you ordered them from Macy's...

Can you tell I'm depressed over this whole dress thing? Everything I tried on at RK looked like crap on me, I looked like a big whale. I hate how I look and I know that if I wait to find the 'right dress' I will never get it in time for the wedding. I don't even know why I'm bothering asking about Macy's, I'm never going to get it in time and besides, now I have to get a cheap dress because an unexpected payment we had to make to the tune of $4000 on Friday. I'm just so fed up and stressed out over everything.

What about trying to get your dress at netbride.com or at another bridal store?

Why don't you contact Netbride? They have bridal gowns and usually can get them pretty quick. I know they have Demetrios gowns.

I just ordered mine from their manhassett location. my wedding is in May and my dress will be in about February and my 1st fitting is in March.

i got my dress from the macy's in manhasset. it came in 2 months earlier than expected. i ordered it in january 2003 and was told august 1, and it was in by june 1.

Tahnks for the replies. I am afraid to buy off of netbride.com because on demetrios' website they insist they do not sell to online vendors and if you order from them you are probably getting a knockoff. Plus I doon't know a seamstress that will alter it for me. Last time I had a seamstress alter a dress for me she f&*ked it up.

I guess I'll go to Macy's but I'm too scared to believe that my dress may come in months before they told me on the phone. And I'll be such a nervous wreck by that time worrying about when it's coming in that there will be no wedding, I'll be in the looney bin.

hey! i ordered my dress from macy's in smith haven in february. now, first they told me 9 months and then they told me it'll be in sometime in july. i havent' heard from them as of yet, but i also have a year + till my wedding so i am not about to call them. i know they tell their manufacturer the wedding date two months before than it usually is (like for mine they said it was 9/04.) so maybe you still have a chance. i know a great seamstress if you wind up ordering it online and need one! good luck! maybe they can pull it off for you!

Maribelle - I, too just ordered my dress (a Demetrios Couture) from Macy's in Manhasset. My wedding is in MARCH (in about 7.5 months) and they told the manufacturer that my wedding was in January. They told me the dress would be in by January if not sooner. Did you speak to anyone in person?

Both my sister and I got our wedding dresses from Macy's at smithaven. We both had 5 months to plan our weddings. They took less than 3 months to come in. We did not have to pay rush charges.
