Any 2nd Time Brides?

Hi, just wanted to know if I have any company on here. Also, anyone where it is your Fi's first? Issues? Church? Annulment?

Re: Any 2nd Time Brides?

Another 2nd time bride here. I never got an annulment, but Fiance is Greek Orthodox and I am roman catholic - we are getting married at the Greek Orthodox church because they said I didn't need an annulment.

Re: Any 2nd Time Brides?

Hi! Second timer here too! So is FI. He has two boys 6 and 9, I have one boy 3. They are all included in our wedding.

Annulments are still in the process, but we decided not to wait. We are told it could take up to a year and his ex is trying to protest. The church told us there is nothing she can do to stop it, but she can just make it more time consuming. We plan on getting married next year on our anniversary in the church with just us and our children present.

Good luck to you all!

Chris

Re: Any 2nd Time Brides?

We are both divorced for a few years, so we won't be getting married in a church.

Re: Any 2nd Time Brides?

I am a second timer too, his first. I don't have to do the annulment cuz my first was by a judge. I did however have to get approved by the diocese, basically they had to make sure I was not married in the church and why. That took about a month and a half. My friend had to get an annulment, it took about a year, and she had to wait to book the church until the annulment went through. That's just in case the other person wants to argue. Good luck, I was really sweating the approval thing, I couldn't imagine having to go through an annulment.

Re: Any 2nd Time Brides?

I was a first time bride, but my DH a secong time groom. He was married in catholic church with a full mass 1st time. He has a 9 yr old daughter, I have a 16 year old son. We included them in everyway, their names were even on the invitations.
We did not consider an annulment for DH, because his daughter was born during that marriage & I did not want her to think that she wasn't born out of love. We got married by a personal friend that is a reverend at our reception hall.
MY DH didn't really want a big wedding the first time, and he wouldn't not have cared if we got married on the courthouse steps, but he knew that it was important to me & we thought it was important for our kids so we had the whole shebang.
