Re: The good, the bad & the ugly on RK Bridal
I thought the dresses there were too cheap looking, right on par with Davids... But that's just my opinion when we shopped for MOB dress

Re: The good, the bad & the ugly on RK Bridal
I ordered from there and did the "no frills" program b/c each of my girls is from out of the area and did not need alterations through the store (they had to get alterations where they are from).
My experience was OK. The prices are great, and the dresses came in in a timely manner. But, when I called after going to see the dresses to get their fax number to fax the addresses for delivery to 2 of my girls they said they'd already been sent.
Well, they hadn't been b/c they had no addresses to send them to! So, I had to fight with the girl on the phone to get her to go look for my dresses.
They were found, and delivered. Overall I'd give them a B-
Edited to add: the bridesmaid dresses they carry range in price. They have Jim Hjelm, Dessy, Watters, and many more, plus some high end dresses. Their bridesmaid dresses, and their dresses in general, are nothing like Davids. They carry the same dresses that many of the upscale boutiques carry, just offering a "no frills" program.

Re: The good, the bad & the ugly on RK Bridal
I ordered my jim hjelm bridesmaid dresses there and they came in so quickly- like 6 weeks after I ordered them. They were like a $75 cheaper with the no frills plan and they beat the price from bridalmarketplace by 5%. My mom's dress also came in two weeks early. It was over $100 cheaper there than at Bridal Garden in Bethpage. The place does feel like Davids bridal because it is like a warehouse but they have a lot of designers so that is the only similarity.

Alina, why would you say that in regards to David's? I'm just surprised b/c didn't you get all of your dresses, including your gown, at David's?

Re: The good, the bad & the ugly on RK Bridal
I bought my girls there - I bought Dessy/After Six. they are not cheap looking. RK has the same BM dress mfg's as most bridal stores - so it depends what mfg you are getting. The dresses in the store aren't always in the best conditions and you aren't going to get a small boutique feel. But I had a great experience with them at a low price. I did the no-frills plan. I have also gotten dresses from them as a BM for friends' weddings and also had no problems at all.
I ordered my dresses in the end of April and they were rec'd by lateJune/first week in July (my BM picked their own dresses - so since they were different styles they came in at different times - even though they were all ordered on the same day).
I have no experience with their seamstress.

Theresa is Marcella still around? I don't want to bother her right now. 3 days away and all.
They are coming in $50+ cheaper than other places. Its between here or netbride. Would you believe the GIRLS are nagging me to find out when we are ordering the dresses????

Re: The good, the bad & the ugly on RK Bridal
another no frills person here. We got impression bridal dresses from there. Ordered in november and received in January.
Everything was perfect... If you are looking for a full service salon this isn't the place but they have the same manufacturers that they do and for cheaper.
It was just very accomodating since my bridesmaids were not from New York.

Re: The good, the bad & the ugly on RK Bridal
We got all the BM dresses at davids.
But for my mom, we went to look at RK. The selection for MOB dresses there was yucky in MO, and I thought that the quality was even worse than Davids (I mean we saw a few stretch/lycra style dresses).
I also got a chance to look at some other BM dresses, just to see and didn't like the quality either.
I didn't mean to offend anyone, but was trying to be honest.

Re: The good, the bad & the ugly on RK Bridal
I agree, their dresses are not like David's dresses. They carry A LOT of designers not just one like David's I went to go try on dresses for my friend's wedding and we had a good experience. But you have to get there EARLY. It starts becoming a mad house at around 12pm. You have to put your name on a sheet and wait till they call you. Then your girls only get, I think 1/2hr to try on dresses. My friend's sister and I had to try on the dresses in the same dressing room. We didn't end up getting our dresses there b/c of the hassle of going back and forth into NYC. We ended up getting them at Charisol in Flushing (they're on Northern Blvd). Charisol's has a big selection, good prices and their prices include alterations. If you want Charisol's exact address, let me know and I'll find it for you.

For mom's dresses you can try them on someplace else and they can order them for you if they carry that designer.

Re: The good, the bad & the ugly on RK Bridal
WELL!
here's my story...
I ordered my BM dresses thru the No Frills program on 4/19. Supposed to take about 6 weeks, right? WRONG! Guess when I got them ? LAST WEEK!!
And this is after calling every week and getting the runaround..."they are in"...OH no they are not" etc etc....
So now I have them and just this past weekend I saw almost the same dresses at Davids Bridal!!
Not sure I would recommend them...

Re: The good, the bad & the ugly on RK Bridal
I'm the MOH in an upcomming wedding. The bride had us buy our BM dresses from RK. I put them all on my credit card and the BMs were to reimburse me. All the BMs paid me, but RK charged my credit card 2X for the dresses and has yet to give me a credit 3 months after I picked up the dresses. They were a NIGHTMARE to deal with - so unbelievably rude. I'd go netbride all the way on this one...

Re: The good, the bad & the ugly on RK Bridal
My Jr BMs live in FL and their mom found a dress in as store there that she liked for them but it was $196. She found it online so I could see it. I searched through the site and found RK Bridal listed as a retailer of the brand. I called them and right over the phone ordered two of them for $128/each - they were delivered to FL for only a $7 delivery charge and arrived in about 5 weeks (less than they said).
My experience was great! I never even stepped foot in the store and got a great price!!

Re: The good, the bad & the ugly on RK Bridal
I believe the sample dresses on the rack look horrible cuz they buy 1 sample & don't replace them regularly, if at all. But they do carry all the designers you read about on here. I wouldn't worry about the dress quality - unless you choose a cheap designer. but the shop itself definitely has a David's Bridal feel/atmosphere to it.
I would've gotten my BP's dresses (Watters) from RK, but we got them cheaper elsewhere.

Re: The good, the bad & the ugly on RK Bridal
I have already been to the store and the dresses are kind of crappy. Its expected with dresses that are tried on by 100's of women. These are samples so these poor things are used and abused. Anyway, everytime I call RK there is some nasty woman on the phone. I just don't think I can deal with that every time call. I already called 5 times and it isn't getting any better. For now I am leaning towards netbride. If the girls say otherwise.

Re: The good, the bad & the ugly on RK Bridal
I got my wedding gown and veil from RK, and I WISH I had gotten the BM dresses at RK instead of crappy-a** David's Bridal. As far as my gown ordering goes, they've been wonderful I have my second fitting today, and so far it's been great. They completely f**ked up my veil order, though, which really p***ed me off. The bridesmaid dresses I saw there were really nice and a lot cheaper than I would have expected. Overall I'd say they've been average to good to deal with.

Re: The good, the bad & the ugly on RK Bridal
Girls, when I wrote about the quality of the dresses, I didn't mean their dirtiness and wear, I mean the fabric and how it fits a person's body...
Some dresses were made of such icky fabric

Re: The good, the bad & the ugly on RK Bridal
RK Bridal has the largest variety of BM dresses that I've seen (Dessy, Watter&Watters, Jim Hjelm, After Six, etc.) The only brand that I wanted to see that they didn't carry was Siri.
If you know what you want, their no frills program is the best for saving money. My BM dresses arrived 2 weeks early! You are dealing with a large company, make it simple for them. I picked up the dresses and I fedexed them to my BMs myself.
All in all - I rate RK Bridal a A.
p/s If you want to go try on dresses, highly recommend taking a day off from work, it is so much more pleasant than the zoo during the weekends.
GOOD LUCK!

Re: The good, the bad & the ugly on RK Bridal
Alina - NOT trying to start an argument but if the dresses were made of any icky fabric, you have to blame that on the designer/manufacturer, that has nothing to do w/RK.
