About to start buying new things for my house...HELP!!!

As many of you know, both my Mom and Dad have both passed away.FH and I are going to stay in the house I grew up in, and we are about to buy new furniture. I am overwhelmed... first off getting rid of a lot of stuff I was familiar with all my life growing up in this house, and also excited becuase we are starting over. I need help, and someone to lend an ear. First off we plan on reupholstering 2 club chairs, does anyone know of someone that does this at a reasonable price? I also want to start looking at new stoves, and new kitchen sets. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Take it slow, do one thing at a time. Just like wedding planning start with a budget and prioritize. Prices can get out of hand quickly if you are not carefull. Try to develop an overall vision of your home before you start purchasing.

For appliances decide if there are certain features that you must have then do some reasearch and comparison shopping.

Its going to be fun - happy shopping

Furniture Doctor on the corner of Sunrise and Centre Avenue does amazing work. They make house calls for estimates and do pick up and delivery.

It can be very overwhelming. Siegermans is a big store with just about every style imaginable represented.

Maybe you could start with some decorating and style magazines. Pull out pictures of everything your like. A favored style will start to emerge. Then you can go from there. Take your time. Its expecially hard when you are trying to change something you are so familiar with.
