Tux - renting or buying???
We're going to look today - I'm undecided as to which we should do. What are you girls doing for yours?

Re: Tux - renting or buying???
We bought it at Syms, for $250, so if you plan to wear a tux for 2 more times in your life, its worth it.

Re: Tux - renting or buying???
We ended-up buying so the tux could be tailored to fit him perfectly. I guess I felt a little guilty -- it's a fraction of what my dress costs and he could actually wear it again, so why not buy it so it could fit him just right? It was a little splurge.

Re: Tux - renting or buying???
We rented, but we rented high end tuxes (they came to about $225). DH wanted the really nice Geoffrey Beene tux and it was $1500 to buy, so we rented. He did buy the shirt for $95 though, and a hanky for $30.The tuxes we got at Tuxedo Park in Carle Place, and they did a fantastic job in tailoring. The high end tuxes looked just like those you could buy, and they have every size so the integrity (buttons, hems) stay in great condition and don't look 'used' or rented.

Re: Tux - renting or buying???
we bought, and got some great online deals. My dad got a Geoffrey Beene tux for ~$350 (and just wore it again last week), and Al has already worn his 3 times. (he bought a fumigalli palazzo for ~$250 - just happened to be the style he loved). I highly recommend it. We spend how much on our gown, and they wear used clothing? We definitely got more than our money's worth.
Some of the GM already owned tuxes and wore those, others rented.

Re: Tux - renting or buying???
We ended up renting - there was one he looked absolutely amazing in, but it would have been over $1000 to buy - more than the cost of my dress.
