Re: Engagement Ring Insurance
If you already have home/apt insurance, you can add it as a floater. Or you can just take out a separate policy for it....

Re: Engagement Ring Insurance
You can add it to another insurance policy that you already have, or start a new one if you don't have any. My FH and I bought renters insurance and added my ring to it.Btw, Congrats on your engagement
and welcome to the boards!!

Re: Engagement Ring Insurance
I just lost my ring and am going through pure HELL with State Farm..I DO NOT recommend you go with them. They are horrible people and are trying everything they can to not follow through..I have a feeling we will just have to buy another ring and it isnt fair, we did nothing wrong and we have been paying insurance. Its juts not right!
Its very sad whats happening to us.

Re: Engagement Ring Insurance
If you don't have the ring appraised already, you must do that. I hear that Macy's in Herald Square is a good place to appraise it

Re: Engagement Ring Insurance
Chubb is a great company for jewelry insurance. You get a lot more coverage than you do with some other companies/policies - it may cost more, but its worth it.

Re: Engagement Ring Insurance
Yep everything said here is trueGet renters insurance is not real expensive, with my ring added in and my engagement gift my renters insurance is $177 a year.
State Farm is treating one of our ladies very very very poorly and making a bad name for insurance people
Do it NOW NOW NOW.
Get it appraised. Sometimes the insurance companies may require they get their own appraiser.
Questions an insurance company may ask.. god only knows. Mine asked if I locked it away when I wasn't wearing it and if my house had bars!!! I was tempted to say I shove it where the sun don't shine at night for safe keeping.
Chubb is a very good company for jewelry.
Hope this all helps... congrats and good luck!!!!

Re: Engagement Ring Insurance
state farm is actually the best insurance for the house, and are good about processing and paying out on car claims...but for our ring insurance we went with www.jewelersmutual.com.... its 2% of the appraised value per year

Re: Engagement Ring Insurance
I used Homesite for my renters insurance and included the ring on my policy. it wasn't expensive at all. give them a call. they are a sister company of the car insurance - response insurance. or, i have heard geico is good too!

Re: Engagement Ring Insurance
I have Chubb insurance. I went on their website and then found a location near me and called that number. My policy is just for my engagement ring. Slightly more, but I thought it was worth it.

Re: Engagement Ring Insurance
I highly reccomend Jewlers Mutual for ring insurance. They specialize in jewerly insurance. Big difference from regular house insurance - if your ring is lost or stolen, you can choose where you will buy your ring from and chose the ring yourself (not have the insurance company do it for you). Hope this helps!
