Re: Suggestions for a fall/winter wedding?

Fox Hollow does not have view, but they decorate beautifully in the winter. They have a nice fireplace and dark wood walls that gives it a warm, wintery feeling.

I've never been to Lands' End but I think the pictures of it look beautiful and its on the water.

I'm getting married at Port Jefferson Country Club which is on the water, there are lots of trees on the property which look beautiful in the fall and the room is full of windows. But, they are changing management next year and I don't think they are booking for 2004.

Re: Suggestions for a fall/winter wedding?

I am getting married at the East Wind in November and I went to my fiance cousin's wedding in November at the East Wind and it was still beautiful. If their is no snow on the gound they actualy go around and replant all the dead flowers everyday so the bride has new tulips out no matter what. The place is still amazing anytime of the year you have your wedding. Like I know that for my wedding they will be setting up the christmas decorations. But their decorations are not like normal christmas decorations, they are very elegant. I would defenitly check out the East Wind.

Re: Suggestions for a fall/winter wedding?

Carlyle on the Green overlooks the 18th Green of the black course of Bethpage State Park-

Only think is if you get married at night- you won't see it b/c it will be dark.

I got married in the winter on a Friday night & what was great is that it was dark for the ceremony & reception and I had everything candle lit!

Re: Suggestions for a fall/winter wedding?

My reception hall, The Hamlet Golf and Country Club, is incredible. The ballroom is lined with french glass doors that overlook the golf course (and patio with small lake & fountain). With all the glass doors around the perimeter of the room, it feels very open and outdoorsey.
Good luck.

Re: Suggestions for a fall/winter wedding?

I am sure the Swan Club maintains beautiful gardens in the winter months. Crest Hollow has a beautiful pool/fountain type thing that looks pretty lit up.

Water's Edge in Long Island City is gorgeous in the winter months - You see the entire NYC skyline - my cousins got married there - one in Nov and one in Feb.

Re: Suggestions for a fall/winter wedding?

I'm getting married this December at Danfords in Port Jefferson. I live out of state now and have A LOT of people coming from out of town. My FH and I liked Port Jefferson & Danfords for a couple of reasons. 1. It's on the water and the reception room overlooks the water. 2. There are places to stay at Danfords and close to Port Jeff. 3. They decorate the town really nice for the holidays. 4. There are shops, restaurants, and bars that people can walk to while they are in town for the weekend. We are having 130-150 ppl at the wedding so this place worked well for us.

Good luck on your search!
