UPDATE I wanted(found) someone to do my makeup done for my engagment party

Everyone is so expensive, it is not my wedding. Danielle Renne who I wanted to use is not expensive but she is so far away. All the other people I have been calling want $125 for my engagment party. They wont even let me get the wedding trial done for my engagment party which is what I originally wanted to do.

Why not get it done at the make up counters in the mall? They do a great job and I think they are for free as long as you buy soime products from them. So go to your favorite makeup counter!!

me too! I am going to see what my hairdresser charges, and if it's too high, then I am planning on going to the counter people. (When's your party?)

Why do you even have to tell them what it's for? If they ask, why not just tell them it's for a party you're going to. Then, if you like what they've done, go back and book them for your wedding.

My engagement party is September 27, I am just going to go to the counters. I though it would be easier to have it done when I had my hair done at my sister house.

Please I dont usualy go to the counters, because my best friend is the manger of Sephoria in the city and I get my things through her, so I have no idea where to start.

i wouldnt suggest going to the coutners. if you make an appiontment- most places charge. if you dont make an appt, then you are going to rush the mall and hope someone can take you and do the make up the way you like it. i dont think you want the hassel of all that on a day that is already crazy. i got my make up done by the make up artist my family uses for my eparty and it costed around $150. if its worth it, splurge, and treat it like a trial for your wedding.

When is your party? Tell whoever you are using it is a trial and usually its half of what the real cost is. My makeup trail cost $50 and $100 for the day of the wedding. Good luck.

I tried that and that is what i said when I called most of them told me they would not do trials on the weekend because of weddings.

my girlfriend wasn't planning on using a makeup artist for her wedding because she didn't like the trials she had done, and when she went to Macy's to buy makeup to wear on her wedding day, the girl at the CLinique counter offered to give her a free trial and if she liked her she would hire her. The girl did a wonderful job, would NOT EVEN ACCEPT the tip my friend offered and did the whole BP on the day of the wedding for WAAAAAY less $$$ than you pay the average makeup artist (I believe it was something like $25 per BM and the girl came to her house!!) and we all looked great! Moral of the story? You don't know until you try!

I found someone to do it for me for $30 for regular and $50 for airbrush. She is a vendor on here and she is located in massapequa. I got Jackie for I Make Up You to do it. If anyone wants her info FM me.
