Should I change my wedding date to get the band I love....

Iknow this sounds ridiculous, but I have been swearching for another band now for 4 months. I am really at my break! It seems like everything with this wedding is taken 10 years to do and is turning into a nightmare! It took me 6 months to settle on my hall. Then the band we loved was booked for our day 2 years in advance. Now I don't know if I should change my wedding date to get the band I love!!! I just can't win.

Sorry I just need to get this thing moving already!

i would keep searching because then you are going to have change all your other plans. whats so special about this band that other bands dont have?

Absolutely NOT.

There are other bands...trust me. And while you may love them now, who's to say they won't **** on your wedding day? Honestly, sweety...nothing is guaranteed, and I hate to be a pessimist, but I learned the hard way! My band didn't totally ****, but they were 3/4 replacements and did some pretty stupid things at my party.

Stick with your date, find another band...there are tons out there that are great....ask around!

I am telling you. FI and I have attended about 2 showcases a week and have had numerous CD's and video tapes sent to us. We are looking for club, free-style music and a little Italian. Although we did hear MGM, Strings, and Angelo Venutto's band which do both styles, all the bands have no horn sections and do everything electronically. What is the sense of having a band then if they have no real horns? There was another band in NJ called Opera3000 but they are completely booked for most of next year! I thought I got lucky today with a band called Inferno in NJ - big $$$$$, but he called the guy who had my date on hold and the guy ran over with the $$$. I am sooo disgusted and the funny thing is the date I chose is an off date which we got a discount on because supposedly noone else was booking it!

It sounds like you've been through the ringer. I'm also assuming the combo band/dj thing is out of the question? It might be a good alternative for you if not...

Have you looked into what it will cost you to change everything you've already booked? Including the hall? It sounds like it might be a big hassle...I mean, you have to first get a new date at the hall you like, and hope that the band you like has it too..

My hall has 2 dates on hold for me. But the one I really want is the Saturday date. (No I can't switch it for another Sat-long story!) The other is a Sun date. I really would rather get married on a Sat then a Sun.

Sweetness, check out the band Sound Image. They're part of Skyline Orchestras. They play club/dance stuff and sound incredible!!!
I would NOT change my date. We chose our date and booked a Church, and when we were looking for a hall, I can't tell you how many places tried to get us to change our date when they didn't have what we wanted available! I promise you'll find something! Good luck.

Paris was booked for my date also and I considered changing my date, but my hall had such limited availability I was lucky to get the date I did. We ended up booking the Projekt who are also part of Soundcheck-did you check them out? If you saw them in a showcase with Paris then ask for a dvd or tape of Projekt so you're not comparing the two. That's what we did and compared to the other bands we saw, the Projekt kicked all their butts by far!

No band is worth changing your plans. There are plenty of great bands out there! If one is booked, another good one will be available.

Have you checked out Franklin Wayne? They have a bunch of bands that showcase all the time.

Susans used Current Affair and they were great too.
