I'm getting so nervous about my new job....

that it's making me sick to my stomache. I can't seem to calm myself down for some reason

I start teaching next Wednesday. It was just such a last minute surprise that I this job that I feel SO unprepared. And everything I do to try to prepare, I get so nervous that I get a mental block

Relax!!! Everything will be great!! This is what you worked for. Enjoy it!!! The nerves will go away after you first class!!!

Just remember, the kids coming into your class are just as nervous as you are!! Try and stay calm, play a quick game to start to calm all of you down.

I am always a bit nervous on the first day of school and I've been in this profession for 10 years! Just take a couple of deep breaths and you will always find someone to help you. When do the teachers go back? You are going to have a lot of fun this year and have a rewarding experience. Just have fun and be tough!

I just want to add that you can't be totally prepared for the school year until after the first day of school. Just do the little things that you can do and the rest will come to you in no time.

Thanks everyone. I'm going in today to finish setting up my classroom, so hopefully once that's done my nerves will calm down! Thanks for the support girls!

I think you are going to be great!! It's natural to be nervous about a new job, after a week you'll be wondering what you worried about in the first place

Dont worry, its a normal feeling, but once you get there it will slowly go away and you will be just fine. Good luck!

Rachel... good luck!!! I know you will do very well. LaNae loves the school and says the poeple there are so nice! She will help you with anything you need. She is such a lovely person. You will have a great time there! Don't stress too much (although I know you will- just like all teachers at the beginning of the year- it's just natural!).

I feel like that every back to school. I wonder what idiots are going to trust me with educating their children. Then once I walk into that classroom, everything changes. If you didn't worry, then I would wonder. A good teacher puts a a lot of thought and ocnsideration into their profession. You'll be wonderful- I can tell! Good luck!
