I'm new and 6 1/2 weeks pregnant...
My husband and I found out we were pregnant 2 weeks ago. I went to my first appointment to confirm the pregnancy. We are thrilled!!! I have only told my sister mainly because I just can't keep a secret like this between my husband and I alone
she is my biggest supporter. The problem I have is that I am a Big Time worry-wart.I have not had any morning sickness (thank god!), but I do have a sharp shooting pulling discomfort on my lower right side abdomen for the past three weeks. I've heard it's probably just legumin stretching or an... ectopic pregnancy... Am I worrying too much about the ectopic pregnancy? Would I know already??? This is my concern, can anyone shed some light?

Re: I'm new and 6 1/2 weeks pregnant...
Thank you for your support! It is much needed in the first trimester. I hate not being able to tell my friends (that just had babies). My husband and I agreed to not tell anyone ( I slipped and told my sister) until the first trimester is over...I will call my doctor today. I just didn't want to annoy my doctor on a daily basis, but I really should not care. This is my baby and my body.
Thanks again!
oh and thanks to my sister

Welcome. I was not able to keep my news from many people. I figured that if god forbid something happned I would need their support anyway.I am glad you told your sister. You need someone to be excited with and talk 'babies' with.
I am sure that pain is the ligament pain. I had that A LOT in the beginning and never got sick either.

Re: I'm new and 6 1/2 weeks pregnant...
Oh thank you all! This is absolutely wonderful, being able to talk about this and not really bending the rules
I am leaning more towards feeling like it's muscle stretching. It only makes sense at this point. I have been blessed with no morning sickness. Just a little tired and very uninterested in everything else but my baby
and my changing body. I don't go back to the doctors until the 23rd (3 more weeks). Then I will have my first ultrasound. Should I go sooner? I will be 9 1/2 weeks by then.

Re: I'm new and 6 1/2 weeks pregnant...
First of all congratulations!! And welcome.I would call your doctor like you said and tell her your concerns...that way she can either ease your mind or recommend that you go for your u/s a little earlier. I'm sure it's fine, it definatly sounds like streaching.
Best of luck to you. Please keep us posted.

Congratulations and welcome!!!!
What's your EDD? I'll add you to our list!!BTW, your pain absolutely sounds like your round ligaments stretching. Expect more.
And when you sneeze..... o-u-c-h!!
Just keep in mind how much room you'll need to keep your baby comfy!!

This is so wonderful to have such warm support! Thank you. I miss my fellow LongIslanders. I moved to Georgia a few years ago to start our lives together. ALL our family and friends are still on Long Island...My Baby Bean's (that's what we call it) EDD is May 2,2004. I'll be 7 weeks on Friday. I'm sure it will change once I get my first sonogram.
I'm glad you mentioned the sneezing, becuase YES it hurts!!!

Re: I'm new and 6 1/2 weeks pregnant...
Congratulations on your wonderful news, and Welcome to our community!
My son was born May 9, 2002....kinda near when you'll be due to give birth next year. I too, lived far away from my family and friends when I was PG (we were in California and family was in NY). It has it's ups and downs, so if you need anyone to chat with about the unique feelings that go along with experiencing pregnancy 'alone', I'm all ears!
COngrats again and best wishes for a healthy 10 months!
