For those who have done mommy and me classes

My sister is going to be teaching a mommy and me class at the school I work at starting next week. Shes a dance teacher so she knows what to incorprate with movement but I was wondering, those of you that have been, what else do they do??

She plans on using scarves, balls, parachute and bubbles. She wants to cool them down with a story at the end...any other suggestions?? Is this what they usually do during mommy and me? Thanks!

Re: For those who have done mommy and me classes

Paul and I just went to our first Mommy and Me today - it was designed for kids 18-24 mos. Today, they started off with a craft. Then they had 5 min of free play while the craft was cleaned up. After that, they had circle time - which was singing the 'Hello' song, where the moderator says Hello! using everyone's name, then they sing nursery rhymes and have some interactive play with a parachute and some bean bags. The last thing was BUBBLES, which even got Paul excited! It was so cute to see the kids chase after the bubbles to pop them.

I don't know if they do the same thing EVERY time - I'll have to let you know next week. The session is eight weeks long.

HTH!

Re: For those who have done mommy and me classes

Thank you so much Claud. My sister is nervous, she has the same age group that you and Paul went to. I dont think that she knows exactly how to involve the mommies though..does she say good morning to them too type of thing?

Thanks for all the help!

LOL! Oh, that's so cute! Well today, the moderator just said, 'Hello, Mommies!'

When we sang the good-bye song, she said, 'Good Bye, Mommies....see you next week!'

Is the the one you go to 'The Original Mommy and Me'? I go to one starts Wednesday, and they do the same thing.
