ok, kind of weird but..skin care for wedding day

is anyone using anything to make their skin look great on their wedding day? I am wearing a strapless dress and I want to look smooth and silky hehe

I bought Dove moisturizing shower wash but I'm not crazy about it. I also heard there are some nice 'light shimmery' sprays. Anyone use something like this?

THe Jergens has a moisturizer that has a slight shimmer in it...I think it looks pretty.

Do you mean for your shoulders and exposed chest? The sell tons of shimmery lotions, but you should check with your make-up person as it may look funny to have a glittery chest and a smooth face. Bobby Brown carries a shimmer all-over poweder that maybe your make-up person can use over your make-up as well as down your neck over your shoulders and chest. Can't hurt to ask.

Jergens is great. I use it all the time. It does have a funny smell when it's in a bottle but it doesn't smell when you put it on. But like Kim said check with your make-up person first.

Re: ok, kind of weird but..skin care for wedding day

Bath & Body Works makes a shimmering lotion...but I don't know if you want to put that on your skin in case it marks up your dress...but the scents are great and I would go in and test it with a piece of your fabric. You can always put the lotion an inch above where your dress will be too. But they make your skin soooooo soft. I don't know about shimmering sprays.

There's also sugar or salt scrubs but I wouldn't do those since the oils in them will go on your floor in the shower or tub and possibly make it slippery and you might fall!!

Or Johnson's baby oil or lotion...those are good too.

Re: ok, kind of weird but..skin care for wedding day

I used body shops body butters every day and night for a few weeks, then a few weeks b/f the day I went to my dermatologist and he prescribed a lotion with lactic acid to make my skin smooth but not break out (this lotion is available to anyone, you don't have to have 'problem skin to get it').

I also went to the spa a few days before and had a salt scrub and mud wrap.

not for your face but for chest and neck area, i used victoria's secret shimmer lotion. smells great too! on my face, my MA used some kind of very subtle shimmer which gave me a nice dewy glow. they have everything. i wouldn't worry!

Re: ok, kind of weird but..skin care for wedding day

the best thing I can recommend is the following: try and exfoliate often before your wedding day to avoid break-outs and keep your face clean.. I also do yogurt masks which are very good.

Drink TONS of water! that is by-far the best secret to healthy skin!!

and as for shimmer, don't waste your money on shimmer lotions, use baby oil.. it's one of my best kept secrets!!
