Wedding on July 4th weekend
I have a quick question for brides and brides to be that got married the weekend of july 4thMy FSIL is thinking of having july 3, 2005 wedding (it is a sunday night and the next day would be july 4th)
She was wondering if halls give a better price because of the fact that it is a holiday weekend -
Any info would be great - thanks!

Re: Wedding on July 4th weekend
I was in a wedding on July 5th several years ago and the hall did give a better price for a holiday weekend. Also, I think a fourth of July weekend wedding is a great idea because the options are endless in terms of themes, favors, colors, etc.

Re: Wedding on July 4th weekend
Hi... I've been looking around at July 3rd myself and everywhere I have gone, except for maybe 1 place... they are all the same prices as any other weekend.. which I really thought prices would've been a little lower too since it's a holiday weekend.

attica- you have fm.to answer the question for everyone else, we are geting married july 3 2005. nobody would give us a deal at all b/c its a holiday with monday off. in fact, some places would charge us a saturday night price with saturday night minimums.

I don't think we got a special deal. we are getting married 7-2-04. They were actually booked for that weekend since last year.

Re: Wedding on July 4th weekend
We got married this past July 5th (Saturday) and there was no discount for anything because of the holiday weekend. What we did discover is that we had a lot of regrets than normal because of the holiday weekend.

Some halls do and some halls don't, I would recomend that she sends out 'Save the Date' Cards (STD's). With the long weekend, people might want to go away.

Re: Wedding on July 4th weekend
I would love to have had a July 4th weekend wedding, but there were a few problems that we ran into.1) The traffic on that weekend is horrible. We have many people traveling from NJ, PA and even Suffolk county who would be stuck for hours getting there.
2) Since people book very early, even if we got the hall, our choice of vendors would not be great.
3) My hall was already booked for July 3, 2004, when I went in on July 4, 2002 to book my date!
Good luck to all those who are getting married that weekend!

Re: Wedding on July 4th weekend
I think halls discount the actual holiday so July 4th. We are getting married the sunday of columbus weekend and only the actual day (in my case columbus day) is discounted. Hope that helps..i was confused as well..Some halls will discount when you get under the year mark.Welcome New Vendors
