How much are you spending on invitations? Is $1000. on 100 custom made invitations insane or about right?
This is one thing I really didn't want to shop around like crazy for, I know the company I want to use, but am afraid I am spending an unreasonable amount. This price is for custom designed, colored invitations with thermography printing on very good paper stock. Also incudes reception cards, reply set and all that and direction cards. Please tell me if I am in the right ball park.

Thats actually not that bad, especially if the reception. respones, and directions are included.. I just went last week and ordered mine. They were around $1200. for 125, all included. Also take into consideration the caligrapher, thats easily $200-$300.

We also found invitation we liked, that would be somewhat custom except they were letterpress for about $1100.

Our invites will run about $900 for 125 - it sounds ok to me - i was originally looking at invites that would run us over $1800 - your price sounds reasonable - especially for custom invites

I paid around $900 for Encore invitations. If you have the budget for it, then go for it!

I just saw all kinds if invites on costco.com that were really cheap. Like 75$ for 100! They list the paper quality and they are custom printed. What makes these different from the $1000 invites?I am new at this:0

It's possible that it could be the type of ink, the type of paper, how many colors, what they are including, etc. etc.
Also, there might be many more custom options for the $1000 ones. Then again, I wouldn't really know because we haven't started shopping around for Wedding invites yet.
It all depends on what you want. We spent about $200 (including everything, stamps, shipping, etc) on Engagement Party invitations because they were just beautiful and will work really well with our theme. But for wedding invites, I really want to DIY, so it will probably be cheaper per invite.
