Hypo question - a little long - need your opinions girls -

Ok girls, hypothetical question –

Lets say a friend X was going out with a guy for a couple of months and then he broke up with her. The friend took the break up really really hard and her friends (A, B, C, D..and so one) were there for her (shoulder to cry on) for a while. So X was down for a while but after a few weeks got back together with the guy. She only told one friend and her roommates about it though because she was being really cautious about it. She didn’t want it to end again and put her friends through that again.

Four weeks later – things are going well with the guy and X tells A and B. A got very upset at her – very disappointed because she kept it from her. (X and A are very close friends). B told X that she was upset but as long as X was happy that is all that mattered. A has been upset now for about 7 days to the point where she isn’t talking to X. B told A that she needs to talk to X and A told B to stay out of it. Now, for the past 5 of the 7 days X’s family member has been very very ill. A knows about this but not from X, from B. A continues to be seriously upset at X and doenst talk to her.

What is your take on this? Is A right in acting this way?

I think A is being selfish. She obviously judged her *friend* X and is now punishing X for it. IMO.

I don't have much to add except both A and B are taking this waaaay to personally. And if they're good friends, A should get over herself and be there for X with respect to the sick family member. JMHO

A is being a jerk. I think X was being thoughtful for 'using' her friends to cry to then not wanting to do that again waited till things with the MR. were ok. I think A needs to get over it and be the good friend to X that she was before the whole incedent.

Thanks girls. I agree with you all. Just wish friend A realizes she is being unfair to friend X.

Obviously this isnt hypothetical - it is happening to one of my friends.

I also think A is being too sensitive!

But even if she wasn't being too sensitive ans she had every right to be offended, A should put her anger aside and be there in X's time of need no matter what.
