10/12/03 Wedding Review (Edited - I forgot a vendor I used)

I woke up that morning and it was raining a bit, but for some reason I didn't care. I was hoping we couold still take pics outside, abut if we couldn't I had arranged an indoor picture location.

I thougth I lost my headpiece, becasue i didn't see it in the bag, but after that little mix up, it was in there the whole time, I was calm. And I am never calm.

The rain had stopped when the photographers got there and we were able to go to the Arborituem in Oakdale.

Hair & Makeup: New Concepts - Andrea, she did a great job with my hair and makeup I was very happy with her work.

Limos - Sir Oliver - They were great, the cars were clean, the drivers were great, and I think we may have gone over in time, but there was no issue with them. I would definitly recommend them to anyone that needs limos. We got the Cadillac Escalade for the Bridal Party, and we got the 1040 Cadillac for us.

Photographers - VIP Studios - THe photographerw were Audrey and Bob. I got my proofs on Saturday and I love the pics. I was very happy with them.

Videographers - Wild Rose - Bill shot my wedding, and I was surprised to see him at my house to catch me getting inot the limo, even though we were meeting at the arboriteum. He was great to work with, and we can't wait to see our video. He got great ideas, some of the shots we can't wait to see.

DJ - Spin Around Sound - we had Rob and Rio, they were awesome!!! They played everything we wanted to hear, and even when we asked for things the day of, they were able to add all of our requests. Everyone was up dancing before the food was served, and I was disappointed that we had to stop dancing. I had never been at a wedding where people were up dancing before the meal. W edecided to not have them hand out things, and at first I was a little worried, that epople would miss them, but they were not missed at all. They had a great ability to read what the crowd wanted, the dance floor was never empty.

Officiant - Rev Janine Burns - Everyone loved the ceremony since it was so original and different.

Flowers - Burtons - I was very happy with my flowers, for the boo-ks and the enterpieces. Everyone loved them. We had candelabra centerpieces, with yellow roses, blue hydrnagea and blue delphinium, they were beauitul. My boo-k was white and yellow roses, and the BM's was yellow roses and blue delphinium.

Reception - Villa Lombardis' - They were wonderful, I couldn't have imagined a better place to get married. They ahndeled everthing beautifully. Our Maitre D Steve was the best. When I got there my dress was dirty form being outside, and he cleaned it for me, and it looked great. Whatever I wanted they had it for me immediatley. The food was fantastic, and the cocktail hour was superb. Everyone has told me that was the best wedding they had been to. I can not say enough about them there. There was so much food at the cocktail hour, and each quest was given a choice of seven entrees. At the cocktail hour they waited on us hand and foot, they wouldn't let me wait on line, which was good, I was able to say hello to our guests.

All I can say was that my wedding far exceeded my expectations, I couldn't have imagined a better day. Even though we had to ahve the ceremony insed becasue of rain, it was even better then i had hoped.

I forgot a couple of items.

Rehersal Dinner - Mama Lenora's - the food was excllent and the price was great too, I think we paid 15.95 pp. We had the side room and he told us it would be closed off and when we got there they were helping take out customers at the bar. When I mentioned that it was to be closed, he told us it would be closed when all of my guests got there and it was. Not sure if they were planning on leaving it open if I didn't say anything, but eveything was great.

I got a ice cream cake for my DH, It was a baseball feild with a yankees hat on top, I got it at Hershey's in West Islip,a dn eveyone thought it tasted good.

Dress - BUrton's - I got my dress, veil and headpieve, with sleeves added for less then it cost for my dress alone at other bridal salons. They were great to work with, We also got the BM dresses there too. THey ordered me nore material when one of my BM got preggo, and were great to deal with. The alterations were great too. WHen I complained the dress was a bit too tight, after they ahd taken it in, they loosened it on the spot, and it was perfect.

Limos - Black Tie in Patchogue - this wa the only vendor I had a problem with. They ahd a 2:00 appt on Friday, and only half of the tuxes were there, the others arrived 2 hours later, and they didn't ahve th right vest for my dad. My parents wer late to the Rehersal, and my DH, couldn't even shower or shave before the Rehersal, since he was there for so long. My dad had to go to the centerreach store on Saturday to ge the right vest, after they gave him the runaround. THey also told him they could get the 4 button jacket in his size, and then a week before the wedding said they could only get the 3 button.

To all of the future Villa brides, you will not be disappointed. They were a bit difficult to deal with in the beginning, becasue they seem to have rules for everything, but now I see why they have those rules. They want your affair to be flawless, and they definitly live up to the motto Reputation is everything. They cared about my wedding as much as I did.

I am going to my MOH's Brother's wedding in August and I can not wait!!! I got to eat several items at my wedding, but not nearly as much as my guests did. The food, the service and the place was perfect.

I forgot one vendor that I used::

I got items for the BP from Soap Box, I got personalized, lib balms, body butter and soap, and all of the girls loved them. They loved th scents and the packaging. It wa a big hit, I would recommend that you check out the site, they are a vendor on here.
