What do you crave that you can't have now?

I would think that a lot of girls crave a nice glass of wine or another drink.
But for me (I didn't drink before I was pregnant anyway) I enjoy a piece of brie now and again. I have had it 3 or 4 times since getting pregnant, in small amounts. With the diabetes though I am dying for the following:
A lintzer tart cookie
A Cold Stone ice cream sundae
A krispy Kreme Jelly donut
My morning tea with 2 tsps of sugar- not just 1
A bowl of real sugar cereal in the morning

Oh, and a candy bar- the whole thing, not just a piece or a mini-size but a real, full size candy bar!
My mouth is watering!!

If you fry the bologna up you can have it...My nanny used to make me fried bologna sandwhiches when I was little.
I had 2 since I got pregnant. It was the only time I truly craved anything. I mean, yes I want stuff but those were true cravings.

Jenny- put the brie (remove plastic, but leave on paper) on a baking dish surrounded by Pillsbury Grand biscuits. WHen the biscuits are done, you slice open the middle of the brie and let it pour out onto them. YUMMY and it is cooked so it is okay.

Other than that, there''s nothing much else I crave that I had to give up!

Other than alcohol, I haven''t really denied myself anything. I''ve had hot dogs, tuna and cold cuts on occasion, shrimp more than a few times ( I didn''t know this wasn''t allowed?) and feta cheese all the time. I''d never heard that all this stuff was ''bad'' for pregnant women before!! I''m just careful with where I buy everything from.

why not cold cuts? I buy my sliced turkey breast and ham and cheese from the deli for lunch while at work. Are cold cuts a no-no?

non-heated cold cuts have some bateria in them. I have had cold cuts though, and 1 hot dog in the summer hot off the grill. The non-processed soft cheeses also have a bateria.

I stayed away from cold cuts until my 2nd trimester, but then I craved turkey sandwiches all the time!! I did eat them occasionally, even though they say not to.

I thought with the soft cheeses, it''s only the ones that are not pastuerized?

The bologna and hotdogs have nitrates, that is why I think they say to stay away.

Wine was one thing I craved and didn''t have until after.

They had a special about all those soft cheese, such as brie and feta, and said it was allowed by pregnat women.


They did mention soft cheese allowed...NOT unpasteurized.

Niha, you are correct...

Cooking the cheese or the hot dog really well does not change whether it has nitrates or is unpastuerized.

Actually Claud, if you cook unpastuerized cheese it will kill the bacteria that makes it harmful.
