After wedding does anyone plan on doing the Newlywed Chop?

I was just on the 07 boards and one of the girls who just got married chopped her hair into a bob

Does anyone else plan on doing this?
My hair has always been pretty long, and i dont look good with short hair or bangs, so i honestly dont think i will ever cut it, its a part of me and ive gotten used to having my hair long, and all the maintence that goes with it....

yup, my hair is longer than it's ever been because I want to use my own hair for my wedding updo. I plan on chopping it all off and donating it after the wedding

Re: After wedding does anyone plan on doing the Newlywed Chop?

hmmm i wouldn't cut just bc im married...ive had short hair lots of times so to me its not a big deal...i let my hair grow long and then i chop it off, and then do it all over again...My hair was kinda short not that long ago either, it was like at the middle of my neck, not a bob though

Re: After wedding does anyone plan on doing the Newlywed Chop?

No!

FH has asked me nicely never to cut my hair shorter than my shoulders. My hair is at the middle of my back right now. I love my hair!! (and apparently so does FH)

Same here! I thought that I've always wanted long hair, but now I've realized I really don't. I was just kidding myself.

Re: After wedding does anyone plan on doing the Newlywed Chop?

I used to have my hair cut to my chin, I loved it, but it was actually more work than my long hair can be. FH likes my hair long and doesnt want me to cut it. I like it long too, I can do more with it... not that i do, but I can!!! so I don't think I will cut it, at least not for a while.

Re: After wedding does anyone plan on doing the Newlywed Chop?

I am not allowed! One thing I had to promise was to never (unless my hair got thin or grey) chop my hair short (above chin length) when I am married to fh.

He had to promise to chop his hair off when he either got bald or if his hair was so ratty and grey it was scary.

Re: After wedding does anyone plan on doing the Newlywed Chop?

Well I plan to not cut my hair, except for trims until the wedding. And then cut it then to whatever length i need for the style. But after the wedding I plan to cut it to my shoulders.

Re: After wedding does anyone plan on doing the Newlywed Chop?

Not sure...guess it will depend on my mood. I ususally let my hair grow and then cut it up to my shoulder and then let it grow again and so on. So I am use to it. But I wouldn't do the bob again.....i did that once about 5 years ago and don't think I will ever go that short again. It was nice, but not for me!

i will never get that really short hair cut...unless of course i was on top model and they made me chop it...that is the only circumstance. haha

yeah you do look like a natural blonde, and yeah stupid roots, mine are so bad right now...gonna get it done today.

Before blonde i had red hair for years, but like the dark red colors, i loved it...but they took out this chemical from red dye and after not even 2 weeks the color fades away so much so its annoying.

I didn't want to say it, but I am not 'allowed' either.

Although I had a bob in college, now I look back at those pictures and tell my MOH, 'Friends don't let friends have bobs.'
