Anyone having sparklers at their wedding? Where can you buy them?

My photographer said sparklers look amazing in pictures. They said rose petals often block the couple's face.

I want to have sparklers at my VH. They must sell them at the party store. I know fireworks are banned here but are sparklers considered fireworks??? Hope not, that would take away from the fun of those. I also have seen streamers in pics, they are nice, consider doing those if you dont find any sparklers

I think sparkles you can have. but just check with the RH that it's ok. SOme places don't like to have them.

i think a lot of RH's may not allow them inside. but if you are going to use them outside for photos, i dont see why not. you can prob find them online for cheap.

In lieu of rose petals, bird seed or bubbles, I'm having my guests light sparklers outside the church as we exit. Try this site: Sparklers Online

My sister had them hidden in her centerpieces and when they got announced, they somehow went off. I think her florist did it for her.

that would be cool for an outdoor wedding! I doubt reception halls allow them inside though. But I can see where they will look neat in pictures.

not to be a party pooper but i found this:

New York Fireworks Laws

CONSUMER FIREWORKS
Specifically Permitted None
Specifically Prohibited Firecrackers, torpedoes, skyrockets, roman candles, bombs, and sparklers

not saying that no one uses them - but i doubt any hall would let you use them inside or outside unless you sneak them in!

I think they are legal. If I'm not mistaken Party City carries them but does not call them sparklers. They call them something stupid like flaming sticks.

maybe sparklers refer to the long metal ones but those shorter ones with burn colors are legal?

i thought they were all illegal though.

about 3 years ago my friend got married at bridgeview, she had the everyone light them before they were announced,,the hall got ridiculously smoky, like you couldnt breathe at all, and people put them out on the table covers she rented..needless to say she then had a fight with her florist who rented her the table covers to begin with,.,

She fought with the florist? Sounds to me like the florist was totally within his/her rights to ask for the cost of the tablecloths. It's not like it was an accident from a candle, using sparklers indoors is kinda dumb.

I was just looking at that website that sells them, and nearly every type says 'NOT FOR INDOOR USE.' The kind that you can use on cakes is for indoors, but I don't think any of the others are. And even the type that's for indoors probably isn't designed to be used in multiples in a small area.
