Arguing with future mother in law.... help!

Okay, so here's the deal. I'm getting married at the chapel at Manhattan College on a friday at 3:00 next July. My reception is going to be at the VIP Country Club in New Rochelle at 6:30. I want to block out a bunch of rooms at the Radisson in New Rochelle so people can stay there that night if they want. I was thinking of having a shuttle bus (like a 55 passenger) run from the hotel at 5:50 and then again at 6:15 from the hotel to the party (the hotel and the party are 2.6 miles apart).
My mother in law is seriously fighting me on this. She says that people don't need bussing (even though she did had 3 for her daughters wedding...) and that people get themselves home from weddings all the time. I have friends who will get drunk and some family members too so I would like to provide them bussing. Even if I pay, which I think it might come down to (mother in law is paying for most of the wedding.... but her guest list is also larger than fh and mine plus my parents), she still has a lot to say about it. She is very opinionated and its rough with wedding plans. She thinks that people are going to get stuck in traffic and miss the shuttle bus and thats why she thinks its a bad idea.
Here is my wedding idea:
Church 3-4
Receiving line 4:30
People will leave the church by 5ish I assume
People will get to the Radisson by 5:30 if there is traffic.
Then people have a couple of minutes to freshen up in their rooms, grab a drink at the hotel bar.
Hop on the bus at 5:50 or 6:15.

What do people think. Am I cutting it to tight and is she right or do you think it will work. I am assuming that maybe 100 people will need the bus (55 passenger).
Also, does anyone know a bus company and an idea what there rates are? Please help!

I think that if this is something that you are worried about ( ppl getting drunk) then the bus is totally appropriate. You do not want to have that little worry in the back of your mind. Also, not everyone has a way to get to the RH. I think your timing is quite alright. The hotel and VIP are not that far apart. your mother in law should respect what u wanna do, sit down and talk to her and explain how you are feeling, and if she had 3 busses before, hey she should understand.

I don't know what kind of person your MIL is... but as far as the shuttle bus... if people will be drinking, I say better safe then sorry. And knowing they had a safe way back to their rooms, they may be able to enjoy themselves even more.

She's actually really nice and I'm pretty close with her. They are so nice to even be paying so much for this wedding. I don't want to seem ungrateful because I really really am. But I also don't want things not to be how I envisioned either. I'm not really that difficult, the bussing is really the only thing I am hardcore about. I just think she thinks I am being intense for no reason about it which is why its hard.

I am willing to pay for it. BUT, she thinks our church time is too early and wants the church to be at 3:30. I want it at 3 so I have time for people to get to the hotel and get on the bus. Since the church is at my old college, the time is open ended so it would be easier if it was set in stone. Its like one thing snowballs into another.
