Re: atlantis in the bahamas?

We went there for Vacation last August and actually ended up loving it so much that we got a timeshare there. It is unbelievable and the food is fantastic. They have everything so you will never be bored. I think that the only drawback would be that it is always busy so if you are looking for a secluded vacation this may not be for you but I highly recommend it!

Re: atlantis in the bahamas?

I went there a few years ago and it was AMAZING!! We had sooo much fun and there was so much to see and do within the resort itself! I agree with it being busy, I remember a lot of people, kids, and noise (especially by the pools), but the beaches weren't too bad!

Re: atlantis in the bahamas?

Never stayed, but have visted twice. The hotel is beautiful!! So many things to do and plenty of places to walk around. Beautiful pool, and nice restaurants.

The only thing I can say is, lots of kids. But, your going to Disney, so that doesn't bother you. Also, I don't like Bahamas at all really. Have been there a few times. If you are going to Bahamams, I think the Atlantis is the place to stay.

Re: atlantis in the bahamas?

I stayed there and had an amazing time. It is beautiful and there is so much to do. It can get crowded are there are a lot of kids so if you want privacy, this might not be the place for you.

The only thing I would caution you on is definitely get the meal plan. If you don't, they charge ridiculous prices for the a la carte meals (like $20-30 appetizers).

This is because even on the meal plan, the only thing you pay for is service. They automatically charge 15-20% of the check (I don't remember the exact percentage) as the tip. So, they hike up the meal prices to get a larger service charge. For people on the meal plan, it doesn't matter as much, but for those not on the plan, it is ridiculously expensive.

Other than that, it is a great place to go!!! You would have a blast and get a great tan!

I 2nd the meal plan. Definitely get it because you can eat at all the best restaurants every night and they are all fantastic.

Re: atlantis in the bahamas?

I agree...with all that I forgot to say that the food was yummy at all the restaurants. You will have to make reservations though at some of them because they book up quickly.

Good luck planning!

FH went there a few years ago and loved it. He said the food is great. We are considering it for our honeymoon or maybe for our first vacation in the spring.

I agree...my family also has a timeshare there. Do not plan on there ever being a real 'down' season. Actually, one year I was there for Easter and it was relatively quiet, but other than that....

Plus there are always kids milling about. Then again if you planned on going to Disney, then this shouldn't be a problem, but it is definitely worth it!!! Plus the drinks are to die for!
