Bounce really works on more than just clothes!

after reading a post from suz about how you can use bounce fabric softner sheets around your house, I decided to try number 10 (use it to clean baked on food on your pots and pans) and it actually worked! I cooked frajitas last night and thought I'd never get the baked on olive oil off the pan and decided to try it out. I soaked it over night and just now I went down to clean the pan. The grease just fell right off! No scrubbing! THis is a miracle!

Here's the original post:

I thought this was interesting and wanted to share.

Who knew....?????

Uses for Bounce New & Used.
And all this time I've just been putting Bounce in the dryer.

1. It will chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them.
2. It takes the odor out of books and photo albums that
don't get opened too often.
3. Repels mosquitoes. Tie a sheet of Bounce through a belt
loop when outdoors during mosquito season.
4. Eliminates static electricity from your television screen.
Since Bounce is designed to help eliminate static cling, wipe your
television screen with a used sheet of Bounce to keep dust from resettling.
5. Dissolve soap scum from shower doors. Clean with a
sheet of Bounce
6. Freshen the air in your home. Place an individual
sheet of Bounce in a drawer or hang in the closet.
7. Prevent thread from tangling. Run a threaded needle
through sheet of Bounce before beginning to sew
8. Prevent musty suitcases. Place an individual sheet of Bounce
inside empty luggage before storing.
9. Freshen the air in your car. Place a sheet of Bounce under the front
seat.
10. Clean baked-on foods from a cooking pan. Put a sheet of Bounce
in and fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean. The
anti-static agent apparently weakens the bond between the food.
11. Eliminate odors in wastebaskets. Place a sheet of Bounce at bottom of the wastebasket.
12. Collect cat hair. Rubbing the area with a sheet of Bounce will
magnetically attract all the loose hairs.
13. Eliminate static electricity from venetian blinds. Wipe the blinds
with a sheet of Bounce to prevent dust from resettling.
14. Wipe up sawdust from drilling or sand papering. A
used sheet of Bounce will collect sawdust like a tack cloth.
15. Eliminate odors in dirty laundry. Place an
individual sheet of Bounce at the bottom of a laundry bag or hamper.
16. Deodorize shoes or sneakers. Place a sheet of Bounce in your shoes
or sneakers overnight.
17. Golfers put a Bounce sheet in their back pocket to keep the bees away.

I've seen this before. And I must attest that
10. Clean baked-on foods from a cooking pan. Put a sheet of Bounce
in and fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean. The
anti-static agent apparently weakens the bond between the food.

This really works!!! We do it all the time. You don't even need to let it sit overnight - 30 minutes and everything just wipes right off - no scrubbing.

DH read this in Maxim (I think it was an article on lines to impress women). Anyway, we've told my whole family and they all swear to this method for getting off baked on food.

Try it!!!

Re: Bounce really works on more than just clothes!

Its true about the bounce and bugs. I read it last year and when my gf bought her house over the summer we tried during a backyard party. We put them all over her deck, it was great.

We looked like white trash but bye bye bugs

I'd happily look like white trash if it keeps me from having raw, oozing welts on my legs (yes ladies, I'm a scratcher!).

Re: Bounce really works on more than just clothes!

I use dryer sheets whenever we are going to take the dogs to anyones home. Rub your dog/cat down with a dryer sheets and it neutralizes the dander, and they get that right out of the dryer fresh scent. My vet actually told me to do this between baths to keep my FH's allergies down. It seems to work...

I hate to burst your bubble Lora, but if you soak the pan overnight with just soap and water, it usually has the same effect - no need for the fabric softener sheet.

Thanks for the tips! So can you just lay a few dryer sheets around the yard or do they need to be hanging or something?

Re: Bounce really works on more than just clothes!

No bubbles burst here claud! There was no way this grease would come off with such a light scrub! I have made those frajitas before and after scrubbing our pans after soaking for many hours (sometimes days) wouldn't be so easy. We also dont use non-stick pans. DH is SO into cooking and refuses to use them!
