Crest Hollow - Tulle Lights?

My friends daughter is getting married at the Crest Hollow in June and she likes the hanging lights from the ceiling which they will put up at the cost of $750. Her question is it is a Sat evening wedding what are the chances that they will be left up by an earlier wedding.

We don't see how they could be easily taken down quickly and are wondering if they would be left up regardless (if not reserved). Has anybody reserved the lights and feel it was worth the expense? Has anyone not reserved them and they were up regardless? We have seen several wedding pictures from the catering hall and almost all have the lights what are the chances the lights will be up?

Good luck and we're all praying for great weather for all of us!!!

Crest Hollow - Tulle Lights?

My daughters reception is at the ch march 31,2001. we went the first week of april to ask some quesrions and the lights were still up. We asked about them because we thought it really added to the room. we were told they are up for the winter season. we are going back this weekend for some other stuff and will ask some more about it. they told us that for her wedding they would probably still be up. they usually take them down last week of march beginning of april. we haven't decided yet what to do about it. Take the chance they'll still up? i will let youknow the outcome of our conversations with them

I think its wonderful that your FMIL is hosting this for you. Mine made no such offer and since my dad had already done so much for us, we had to pay for our own rehearsal dinner. Cost us close to $700! Be sure to give her a big fat kiss!

:o)

Crest Hollow - Tulle Lights?

Thanks for the e-mail we would be interested to hear what the outcome will be from your weekend meeting.

Thanks for the note.

I also had my wedding at the Milleridge, but in the Carriage House & live in Queens. Honestly, at 12:30AM, I could have gone home in my Honda Civic and it wouldn't have mattered (I was soooo tired!). We shared cars w/family members and my sister drove us home.

Crest Hollow - Tulle Lights?

I AM USING JACK & ROSE FOR MY WEDDING AT CREST HOLLOW IN AUGUST. THEY (JACK & ROSE) WERE HONEST ENOUGH TO TELL ME NOT TO CONTRACT FOR THE TULLING UNTIL THEN. MOST OFTEN THE LIGHTS ARE UP FROM WEEK TO WEEK. IF NOT, JACK WAS SUGGESTING THAT THE COST COULD BE SPLIT BETWEEN TWO TO THREE WEDDINGS THAT MAY ALSO NOW WANT IT ESP IF THE COST IS NOW 1/2 TO 1/3 THE ORIG COST. MEANWHILE FOR YOUR INFO, JACK & ROSE ONLY CHARGES $375 TO $475 FOR A TULLE/LIGHTING SETUP IN THEIR PKG PLANS, WITH A SHARED COST ISN'T THAT 1/2 375=185-190, WOW. THEY HAVE SEVERAL PICTURES OF THEIR SETUPS IN JUST ABOUT ALL OF THE CREST HOLLOW ROOMS. THEY SAID THEY HAVE ALL OF THEIR OWN CONNECTIONS READY TO HANG AND CONNECT AND HAVE ALL OF THE RIGHT MEASUREMENTS SO THE COST DOESN'T HAVE TO BE INFLATED TO THOSE OTHER EXTRAVAGANT PRICES. GIVE THEM A TRY WHEN YOU ARE READY. BY THE WAY I UNDERSTAND FROM OTHER BRIDES THEY HAVE A GREAT SALE GOING ON TOO.

Hi Heather, Your most welcome. I'm sure after meeting w/ Mike, you will do your tuxes right on the spot. He would probably meet with you on a Sun if you asked him to. We were going to do that but wound up going in on a Sat morning instead. Hope all works out. Lisa

Crest Hollow - Tulle Lights?

Ellen, I would just check with the CH because they told me that the tulle lights are up for the winter season. My daughter and I are going this weekend and I will let you know what they say. My daughters wedding is 3/31/01 and they told us they would probably still be up from the winter. We are going to use Jack and Rose for flowers. I have been using them for years and never had a problem. I haven't been to see them yet for the wedding since its still 10 months to go and I assume its to early to go now

Crest Hollow - Tulle Lights?

It is never to early to book a vendor. You are better off booking now so that you get exactly what you want. We booked our florist, band and photographer the week after getting engaged because we knew who we wanted to use. It was really easy and it was a huge relief just knowing it is done.

Yes, I've heard nothing but elegance and first rate class about Russo's on the Bay. I know a couple getting married there in spring 2001...at $125 a head!!! Can't wait to enjoy that!!!

Crest Hollow - Tulle Lights?

Crest Hollow has nerve to charge extra for something that is included during other seasons, it seems like they are just taking advantage of a couple who is already spending so much money for their special day.

Is this the Stewart Manor CC??. A friend of mine was married there a few years ago. It was very nice. I like the older/more gothic look to it. From what I remember the food was really good. Everyone had a blast. The only problem I thought was the cocktail room was a little small but they also had alot of people. Good Luck!!!

But you're right - I shouldn't have posted b/c all I did was play into your little bully games. I will be signing off and will not read nor respond to your postings again (or any of the alias for that matter)

Crest Hollow - Tulle Lights?

I agree. I think it's unfair that one bride should be given an option and unother bride shouldn't be given the same. Why don't they just keep the lights up year-round? If anything, it will only have more people interested in booking their room. I know many brides who think it looks beautiful and would have loved to have it at their wedding but thought it was ridiculous to pay such a high price for something that a lot of brides get for free.

The bridal suite is up a narrow stair case and seemed small.( I have handicapped people in the fam that would need to be in that room). The grounds really don't have any gardens to take pics in. We needed a place to have the ceremony, reception and take pics in so this place didn't fit out bill.

BUT, I think it is a cute place and the management was more than accomdating. I think the prices were pretty reasonable too. Good luck!

Crest Hollow - Tulle Lights?

I have been to a wedding at Crest Hollow and the lights were up. It was in March.

Now, I know the wedding industry well, I have been involved, and the fact that the Hall leaves them up for part of the year, SHOULD NOT be charging ANY BRIDES any time of the year! This is something the Hall chooses to do for part of the year, why not just leave them up for the whole year. It seems to me Crest Hollow is just looking to make a profit where they think they can. It is outrageous and greedy on their part! I was going to recommend the hall to a friend, but now, I am having second thoughts...

A Wedding is suppose to be a beautiful experience in someone's life, why do people always have to make everyhting about money?

Crest Hollow - Tulle Lights?

I AGREE, I WENT TO FLORIEXIMA IN HUNTINGTON THEIR SUPPOSSED HOUSE FLORIST AND THEY WANTED 750 TO 900. FOR THE TULLE/LIGHTS. I SPOKE TO A LADY ARLENE, WHO WAS NOT ONLY RUDE, BUT OUTWARDLY DISCURTIOUS!!!! WHEN I SAID THAT CREST HOLLOW SALESMAN JEFF SABER TOLD ME THAT IF THE TULLE WAS LEFT UP, I COULD HAVE IT FOR FREE, SHE REPLIED, WELL THEN I'LL JUST HAVE TO GO THERE ON YOUR WEDDING DAY TO PULL IT DOWN MYSELF!!!!!!!!!! I DON'T WORK FOR FREE AND CREST HOLLOW HAS TO REMEMBER THAT SHE SAID, I'LL JUST HAVE TO TELL RICHIE, WHO'S RICHIE????, THE OWNER!!!!......OH MY GOODNESS WHAT AN ATTITUDE. I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE'S IN CHARGE.....NOW I AM THINKING OF HAVING MY WEDDING ELSEWHERE ALSO. THAT JUST STICKS!!!!CREST HOLLOW IS JUST NOT THE SAME ANYMORE!!!!!!!

We came in from out of town to spend 2 days hunting for the perfect site and it was quite an eye opener! I shouldn't have been too surprised to see how different some of the places looked from their web-sites! At one place we didn't even go inside.

We're probably going to select Leonard's of Great Neck and I'd love to hear any comments from all of you - good and bad. We already know from his family that the food was good at a wedding they attended last year and they've had two successful Sweet 16's and two successful weddings there.

Crest Hollow - Tulle Lights?

Does Crest Hollow have a picture of what the Tulle lights look like on a website or brochure? Or do any CH brides have any pictures? I have never heard of that, but it sounds pretty.

I am looking for a photographer that is DIFFERENT!!! Alot of B&W's and photojournalism pictures. Any suggestions?

Crest Hollow - Tulle Lights?

We didnt know they had them either till we went in a month ago to just ask a few questions and they were still up from the winter season.(we booked them in July of 99. They definately added to the room however I dont think that I would spend $750. to have them put back up. My daughter is getting married 3/31/01 so we may be lucky and they will be there. The room is beautiful w/o them.

It seems that it's been some time since a war broke out over opinions. It's been nice to read this without that. In any case, I am about to give OUR personal experience with Imperial Manor....

We went to see it a few months ago. I read that the price per person was starting at $45 and figured it would be worth a look. The other places we looked at were a lot more per person for a June wedding. Well, we weren't happy with the place. They were not very professional in any area in comparison to the other reception facilities we've looked at. From the receptionist who said we didn't need an appointment to see the hall and then had us wait over an hour to see someone. We had also called to verify our directions because we were lost and she said she couldn't help us and hung up. The receptionish was also the coat check girl and attempting to "coat" a party that was over and still be a receptionist for people like us who had come to see the place. I felt that this is the first impression of a placet that guests would have and it was a major turn off. The banquet sales man had 100 things going on during our visit. The door kept opening and closing with interruptions from workers who wanted to drop off money or pick up paychecks.

I am getting married at the chcc in July of 2000 and i asked that they take the tulle down. They said that if i did not want it that they would take it down but said nothing about charging for leaving it up.
