Bridal party/shower question...

If you have an out of town BM who is not able to attend the shower, do you think she should still be expected to split the cost of the shower evenly (the bridal party is hosting the shower). I am interested to get some opinions on this

Re: Bridal party/shower question...

This is happening with my BMs, one is from FL and may not be able to come up for the shower and the wedding. The other BMs that are planning it did ask her for $$ and she gave it, but she complained about it and it almost got ugly between them.

I feel that being a BM has financial responsibilites, but I know not everyone agrees.

Its definitely a tough call. I think my answer is YES, she should still contribute.

Re: Bridal party/shower question...

hmm... not sure... it can't hurt to ask... she may feel bad that sdhe can't be there and may want to contribute.

but then on the other hand, i just hosted the shower for my FSIL.... her mom is passed so my FH and i wanted to host her shower. i spent TONS of money, time cooking and cleaning, etc. and the only other person that helped out was one of her MOH who contributed a lot. there are 8 other bridesmaids and no one else even offered to help split the cost... eergggh!!!! So, I would defintiely ask if she's able to contribute... she very well might want to.

Re: Bridal party/shower question...

I think she should. I'm a BM in a wedding this summer and I can't make it to the shower, but I still put in the same amount of $$ as the other BM. That's one of the responsiblities you take on when you accept the invitation to be in the BP.

Exactly. I was in a wedding last year where I was able to make the shower while 2 girls couldn't and we all paid the same amount.

If the bridal party is paying for the shower, everyone should be responsible for paying.
