Did anything Funny/Crazy happen on your HM????

I just remembered this. We went to Paris for our honeymoon and DH got some restaurant/bar suggestions from friends.

One guy suggested this club La Baron. We went by the address, but couldn't seem to find it, so we ducked into the Four Seasons and asked the concierge. She looked a little worried when we asked if she knew where it was and said she thought it closed down, but that she would call for us. So she makes a phone call and no response. When she hangs up the phone and tells us the news, DH said Darn, I really wanted to check that place out, it sounded good, Alex said he really liked that place. So the concierge looks uncomfortable once again and says 'Because of the girls, sir?'



So, we realized very quickly what kind of sense of humor Alex has - he sent us to a brothel on our honeymoon!!!!!!! so embarrassing!!!!!!!!!! It's a good thing it was closed!

We met the guys from Viva La Bam...the MTV show..
They were staying at our hotel in Venice and it will be aired this season

YES, we had a small problem at one of the hotels!!! And we got a free vacation because of it! We are going to India for 7 days on them! Its valued at about $6000.

Yes...we got stuck hanging out with all of the professional poker players because there was a tournament in Aruba..

FYI..dh is a big time poker fanatic!

Crazy? Yes! The Red Sox's beat the Yankees in the playoffs! We didn't speak to each other for the rest of the night

Sitting at a poolside bar in Hawaii watching the playoffs was pretty funny though.

Us too! We were watching the game on this HUGE screen at th sports bar at our hotel and we actually saw someone from our town on TV.

Another funny one is the first night we went out in Puerto Vallarta DH bought me a rose from this little kid. So every other night we went out he wanted DH to buy me another rose. One night DH said no, so the kid followed us up the block yelling 'El cheapo' at my husband.

We were in Munnar, India sightseeing. I got bit by a leech looking for wild elephants!
I didn't even know it happened until our driver took us to a restaurant for lunch and I happened to look down at my foot and saw blood gushing from my foot!
A nice family in the restaurant gave me tumeric (a spice) to stop the bleeding. That was definetly a first for me!!

Oh goodness yes... we became mini-celebrities on our cruise because we 'won' the honor of representing the newlyweds in the cruises' 'Love & Marriage' game show ... in front of 2,000 of our closest cruiseline friends!

They picked a newlywed couple .. a couple married 15-20 years .. and a couple married the longest, 50+ years.. and then did a newlywed game show type of thing

But in order to be 'picked' as the newlywed couple we had to 'audition' ... And this audition required that we have to act as though were throws of passionate nookie (think When Harry met Sally x 100) DH and I can put on a great show when we need to The audience voted that we were the best!!

Then our infamous moment occured during the game show itself.. when we were asked where the last place we had nookie was .. and we had to fess up and say it was while we on tour at Dolphin Cove in Jamaica And the host of the show took one look at Anthony and was SO impressed by this fact all he said was HEY MON in an exaggerated Jamaican accent... and then he encouraged everyone in the audience from that point forward to go up to Anthony and say 'HEY MON' whenever they saw us on the ship

And for the record - no, we didn't win (the boring 20yrs married couple did ) but we got some nice consolation prizes.. and the added bonus of EVERYONE on that cruise knowing us, always stopping to say HEY MON and chatting with us.. even buying us drinks and such when we'd hit the bar at night..

Because even those who didn't see the show in person, well they saw us on TV bc they replayed the show CONTINUOUSLY on the cruiseline channel in everyone's cabins

Hurricane Frances.

Yes, that was funny/crazy.

Here's the story: Our cruise was delayed 3 days and shortened. Due to the Hurricane. Not the best of situations, but we were okay.

The Hurricane had decimated Port Canaveral, where our cruise was supposed to leave from. Instead, our cruise was to depart from Port Everglades.

So now, Disney has the task of transporting people to a boat 4 hours away, instead of 1 hour. There weren't enough busses. Think of it, if it's 1 hour each way - in four hours you can make two round trips. But it takes 8 hours to make one round trip to Port Everglades. So Disney ends up arranging alternate busses for us - AIRPORT SHUTTLES.

As you may or may not know, Airport Shuttles are not designed for four hour trips. Nevertheless, there we were on an airport shuttle with no bathroom or working AC, packed with SCREAMING CHILDREN. Ok, we thought, this isn't great, but we're on our way to the boat and everything will be fine.

Then the bus broke down. In the middle of a swamp. And I had to pee.

The only bushes around were on the other side of a marsh, and there was tall grass all on the side of the highway. So the other passengers formed human shield holding up a blanked that a state trooper had brought out of his car. I did what I needed to do, stood up, thanked the other passengers. Then I looked down. There were Fire Ants ALL OVER MY LEGS. It hurt. I lost a pair of sneakers and a denim jacket to those fire ants. They were just too infested and I was not about to bring them on a bus full of already screaming children.

The moral of this story is: Don't plan a cruise during Hurricane Season.

OMG! DH wouldn't even go to that as a spectator! We wached a little on the tv. We were the secret HM couple though. We didnt'tell anywoen,s o we werne't involved in any of the HM activities & didn't get a huge Honeymooners on board sign on our door like other people!

Our crazy story! We were in St. Lucia & had gone on all allday excursion. we wnet ona catmaran & then took vans to sse soem sites & on the way back, the vans went downa road that CLERLY said ROAD CLOSED! It was all dug up, so we going in this caravan down this dirt road & get stuck half way , b there was contruction.
There was yelling in crazy dialects, some people got out & walked to the boat, people were volunteering to push to contruction trucjk that was stuck in the mud out , so we could get by.

It was pretty funny. ( but so HOT!)

Heather actually we did NONE of the other newlywed activities on board.. they only knew we were newlyweds because DH's aunt (who is a travel agent and booked us on the cruise) had them deocrate our cabin and send us a cake and champagne, but otherwise we didn't do the newlywed 'party' or hang with the other couples at all. There were at least 20 couples on board but we didn't know any of them until that night! And actually we were egged on with some of the people who WERE at our table to enter the show, and normally those things moritify me but when you have a few Miami Vice's in ya, you'll be amazed what you do

you guys have some interesting stories. the weirdest thing that happened to us was one night i went to get in the shower and there was a lizard/gecko just chilling out on the shower wall. i was totally freaked. dh managed to catch it in a glass and let it go outside. kind of bizarre!

Nothing really funny happened other than we would laugh at the menus and signs at restaurants (this is in Greece). On the menu under desserts they had 'Ice Creams' listed. It just sounded so funny to us, so now we always pluralize ice cream and laugh

We went to this wine bar and sat next to this 'wine snob' who proceed to spend an hour and a half opening all these bottles of wine. He had his girlfriend with him and would not let her taste some of it...because it was beyond her what her palette cuold handle. WHAT?? The best part was listening to him talk about his favorite wine that 'numbs the gums'...Lambrusco.

Yeah, it is a great wine...for $5 a bottle.
This guy was so obnoxious he leaned across the table and tried to engage us in conversation...and kept asking how our food was.

I am convinced he was just doing it to make a show. But it was amusing.
