Do I tip the seamstress?

Hello, all! Just a quick question - I've paid quite a bit - $325 (!!) - for alterations. But dress had to be partially reconstructed up top and the seamstress REALLY did a beautiful job. (4 fittings!) I don't really know how much of that $325 goes to her and how much to salon. Are any of you tipping your seamstresses? What seems (no pun intended) reasonable?

Pam: My sister used Cruise Control Limousines. They were really nice and the cars were beautiful. My sister had a Rolls Royce and 2 stretches. I think there number is listed in Massapequa or Lindenhurst Good Luck

GOOD LUCK

Do I tip the seamstress?

Wow, $325 is a lot for alterations although I am sure the dress looks gorgeous! Yes you do tip the seamstress, I am not sure how much since it was quite expensive to alter maybe $75.

Has anyone used or heard the band, Heart and Soul. They are part of the Franklin Wayne Orchestras. We saw them at a showcase last night and thought they were great. However, this is the first band we saw live. Any feedback appreciated. Thanks.

I have a lot of family coming from out of town so I want to send out save the date cards. I really like the little saying that someone had seen on an invitation for an engagement party, but i don't know what to write after that. Can anyone help me word this right? Thanks for any help.

Do I tip the seamstress?

I have never heard of this. $75 seems like a lot on top of the $325 you already paid. I would aske her. Or, ask the saleswoman at the shop if tipping is custonary and what she recommends. I never thought of tipping the seamstress at the dry cleaners when they alter my suits, but maybe I should.

They have 2 offices, one in Manhattan and one on Long Island.
